Every year I watch my neighbors blow the fallen leaves from their trees and put them into the yard waste bin

And I'm like

How do you think this works, people. Where do you think your tree is getting the nutrients to grow leaves. Try to think systemically more than 30s into the future

Oregon Sunshine is a bright and cheerful plant! It grows up to 2 ft tall when in flower, and while not in flower tends to hover around 1 ft tall and forms a lovely silver evergreen mat. It's an excellent weed suppressor while still playing well with it's neighbors.

Seaside Daisy is a looong blooming evergreen beauty! It starts blooming at the end of April and when happy and with a little deadheading can continue through November! I have 8 that are still blooming today (November 19)!

A wide, late-season meadow stretches across the frame, densely carpeted with yellow wildflowers that appear to be goldenrod. Their upright stalks and clustered blooms create a textured sea of gold, interspersed with tall grasses and other native plants. The foreground reveals a mix of green and brown blades, some curling and dry, others still vibrant, suggesting the transition from summer into autumn. The middle ground is dominated by the goldenrod’s rich hue, glowing softly in the ambient twilight. Toward the horizon, the field meets a tree line composed of deciduous trees, their silhouettes dark and varied in shape. Some trees show hints of seasonal color change, while others remain green, forming a natural boundary that frames the meadow. Above, the sky is a soft gradient of blue, fading into pale tones near the horizon. Wisps of cloud drift across the upper portion, catching the last light of day. The overall mood is quiet and contemplative, evoking the stillness of dusk and the richness of a biodiverse field in seasonal transition.

Goldenrod in twilight’s gleam,
Feels like walking through a dream.
The trees stand guard with quiet pride,
As stars begin to peek and hide.

Goldenrod fills a twilight meadow as summer fades into fall, framed by trees and a soft blue sky.

Huh... what!? That's not a squirrel.
This is one of the reasons that I don't feed the birds any more. They have plenty of food from the thousands of native plants.
It's urban Toronto... so we get rats. But I don't see them much since I took down my bird feeders about 6 years ago.
