I have drawn 2 things today. Both on stream. One was a bit of a study one was messing around, can you tell which is which?

Im sorry I havent been posting... at all really. After my second week of freedom (I am unemployed now yaya!!) Ive lost a fair bit of motivation and im trying to sort out where im at and I honestly just keep forgetting to practice. Its not good

We had three tests. The left was trying to draw a box, then another on top that stretched through perspective so you couldnt see the top. The right was the same but I learned about two point perspective and that REALLY helped. The bottom one was using perspective rulers in CSP and making what would be a more accurate depiction based off the rough angles I used for the two point perspective. Makes a big difference. I personally like the right one more

These were gesture drawings. I had people on stream guiding me through these and I do like how they came out. I had to shrink them so I could better fit more on the page, but they were all originally drawn the size of the one on the right. For the most part the stances read through, and I do believe that was the whole point :D

It has been far too long since I uploaded something and I am falling behind. Thats not good. So this time I have some stuff I did on stream :D I will have more results for you soon, im gonna double down on this, but not gonna pressure myself to do it for uploads, you know?

The cylinder chain is all about managing perspective which I think im at the very beginning of. its gonna be a lot of making the top of the cylinder more flat to indicate what angle its at as well as the angle the lines on the side of the cylinder are because is they narrow it looks like its farther away and if its wider it looks like its getting closer

This ones tough. You have to create depth by using the circles to convey the shape of the rock. Its like a very basic sort of shading, and hell its not easy. There are parts to this I dont think I quite get yet, so im gonna keep on it as time goes on.

At this point im just showing off new exercise im learning and not actually practicing them a whole lot in the background, but im aiming to improve on that. Time is just fickle for me atm. But heres todays submissions!!

Im gonna go back through all my excercises tomorrow, see if I got any better

Box construction is hard, especially when you're trying to keep it all from the same perspective as well as not have them constrained to being level and systematic, you know what I mean?

Extrusion was the name of the game with this one, which all things considered wasnt too hard, but I think I covered this in the last drawing exercises I did so thatd be why

Hello! I think i missed a day and im sorry about that, im working on something and thats taken a bit more of my time than I expected, but keep an eye out for that soon! Ive only been doing a little drawing practice these past couple days, just a few exerceises, but I'll get back on top of it!!

Parallel ellipses is all about keeping the circle centred on the line, which I think I did pretty well (just need to get better at the circles haha)

Ribbons is about creating depth and recreating a single line twice. BOTH of which im not the most consistent on, especially when the lines get more complicated like the last 2 on the bottom.

Last 2 right here! (also have you been reading the alt text? I try to put more of my thoughts into those because word counts and I think proper reflection is important)
Hopefully I can do a bunch of these and not have to post them, but the proper practice will be SUPER important so yayyyy!

Rotating planes!! Seems like its a basic perspective thing which I get in concept but i do need to work on because I think I may have done some lines and angles wrong, but at this point mistakes/rough stuff is ok, and its more about consistency on the things that matter.

This was actually the first set I did, the angles arent harsh enough I dont think on this one

So apparently its a 4 image maximum and I went a little crazy so im gonna split these up.

Drawing 3 lines of varying length, the short one using just the wrist, the mid size using the elbow and the longest using the entire arm.

This star bullshit was killing me. Its meant to help hand eye coordination by drawing lines through the dot, and I think I can be consistant but NOT when it comes to the dot haha

Honestly think I need to slow down. I draw the lines quick to keep them straight as possible, but I miss the target almost completely, so a mix of the 2 seems like it could be the way

Ok, pivot time. Ive been told by a friend on Discord about a video with drawing excercises that seems valuable and I think im gonna be working off that for the near future. It's '25 Essential Drawing Exercises: Unlock your Imagination' by 'brokendraw' on youtube and it looks real good.

The cubes were a bit easier, because of how rigid they were it was alot easier to keep consistant. However, there were for sure times when things bent further than they should and I had to bring it back, so ive still got so much to learn

The shapes are getting wobbly! Its hard to keep them a consistant size all the way thorough while making them bend, to this is very worthwhile to try. I think my main issue is perspective, because im seeing more faces for the curved cubes than I should I think? Or theyre not tilted enough at least..

This was between customers at work, so nothing too great going on there, but it does make me recognise I need to spend more time on active practicing than passive practicing

I just wanted to be sure I could do proper spherical circles by drawing one off hand then circling it a good few times quick. Hoping to lock a good circle shape into my brain rather than the oblong shapes that I did with some of my last circles

Heck I think I missed an upload. No worries I am here with another book and a different pencil because... well I dont really have a reason... but this small period was less about progressing onto new things and working a bit on stuff I just passed, just to make sure I actually did get it you know?

Just the one page today because of reasons. Lil circle perspective thing that im gonna need to do a couple times because SOMEONE didnt do the cross sections properly so theres no dimension to the circles. Plus I need to practice drawing circles

Cutting things in half is surprisingly relaxing and I want to do more of it outside this book to makes sure im doing it right. Just now realising its close to how we gave those random shapes before 3d volume, so it really is all connected!!

These would be pages 6 and 7. Nothing especially interesting happening here besides the realization I really need a rubber (or eraser if that works better for you). I can see that some stuff is getting a little harder to understand, but that just means im headed in the right direction woooo!!!

All geometry here. Man I need to be braver with my lines, less feathering Noodl! Lucky me I had some dice on my desk so I can use them as reference for the easy geometric stuff, still got a ways to go though with consistency, but thats an in time thing. Tried drawing circles in perspective too, but I keep making them more oval when I only draw a half circle, but how important is that to master when you can erase stuff? And for that I need a rubber/eraser, you know what I mean

A bit less stuff but some more complex stuff, cylinders and shaded circles, and making random geometry too. That stuff is actually pretty cool to put together and I wanna do more of that for sure!

Using page numbers to track where we are in the process, so pages 5-6 are here to start us off! I've looked up one of those 'art lessons in 30 days' youtube videos and fast tracked myself a bit to give myself a quick awareness of where I might be and I think Im further ahead than I thought :D

Now forget the proportion's, lets jump into learning based off other peoples drawings! This was Kat from one of my favourite games Gravity Rush. I think the pose was the main idea, but it does look like I got caught up in the waist, hands and eyes for some reason?

Raven from Gravity Rush this time. I'm looking now and I think the legs are a bit too long, or maybe the torso is just too short. But hey, since I can see that now that means ive learnt something right?

Probably from when I first discovered Hololive. Having an artist in their first wave really did help wanting to try again at the time haha

I have this book ive had for a couple years. It has 4 pages drawn on. Im going to fill out at least 1 of the remaining many pages at least once every two days, sometimes more if I can. I can do this!!
