The DeSantis administration has not made public a list of names of the immigrants held at the facility in heavy duty tents at an airstrip in the Florida Everglades. Individuals sent to the makeshift detention center do not show up in an online government database that allows the public to search for immigrant detainees' whereabouts. Lawyers say they have had difficulty locating clients sent to the site, often learning that they are there when detainees call family members.

Florida is committing "enforced disappearance," a very serious violation of international human rights law.

Cuomo spent the whole campaign trashing the Democratic Party while Mamdani never shied away from being a Democrat. For both centrists and leftists it's an important lesson: if you want to win a party primary you should outwardly like the party.

He fears that if he returns to Afghanistan, he would be tortured or even killed, @nbcsandiego.com reports.

Mario Guevara, the metro Atlanta-based Spanish-language reporter who built a mass audience with his coverage of immigration raids, could be deported following his arrest at a protest over the weekend, according to his attorney. A lawyer for Guevara told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged what is known as a “detainer” against the journalist, which is often the first step in deportation procedures.

ICE is attempting to deport an Atlanta-based Spanish-language reporter from El Salvador who has been covering their immigration abductions. He has legal work authorization and a path to a green card.

This is pretty obviously an assault on the free press.
