Nearly died to phyrexian devourer combo. Had one mana open and devourer and thrillseeker came down. Used melee to deal 4 and my opponent flipped a 3 drop then a 6 drop. Got lucky(?)If I had left a second mana open I could have untimely malfunctioned to redirect the damage. That would have been fun.

Biggest mistakes were mulligans again, I need to start learning my lesson. Also, the aggro-burn deck just isn’t very good either, which I knew going in. It got destroyed by the prowess deck and not having any card advantage against another deck. I also took redcap melee over bolt, which was dumb.

I almost had enough time to play each other player, which was very cool. I don’t really like the idea of not having one winner at the end, but I got to play a lot of magic. I’m not the fastest player around, but combined with the types decks I draft matches often end quickly.

Drafted The Mana Vault’s Mono-Red cube two weeks ago with 7. Drafted a bad red deck with some burn and some individually strong cards. Got beat by a lower to the ground aggro deck and another player playing toralf’s disciple. Since we had 7 we started new matches rotating the person waiting. 3-2

My favorite play of the draft, I was playing against a Wheels deck and I just ran Recurring Nightmare out onto an empty board. Learned from my mistake with Chthonian Nightmare during Ice Cube. Deck was fun when I flashed a gruff triplets on T3. Not so fun when I drew entomb with no cards in hand 🤷🏽

Biggest mistake was probably mulligan decisions. Combo decks need to have A+B+C and I need to keep that in mind when choosing to mulligan. My 11 2-drops decks don’t really have that issue so I need to change my mindset when playing decks like these.

My opening pack was filled with like, 6 R/B cards that I was very sad to pass. Player to my right opened through the breach, so I was cut a little since my deck wanted some similar cards. I think I drafted my seat okay, I would have liked to be more blue but I didn’t think my fixing would allow me.

Drafted the Cream City Cube with 6 last Sunday. We started at like 8pm, so I wanted to do something a bit different and I P1P1 Flash and ended up in a janky BGu reanimator deck splashing flash. Deck performed okay, but one of the drafters took every fetch so my fixing was iffy. 2-1

I really like this cube, drafts and games have been a lot of fun. Summon:Magus Sisters was great, way better than expected. My opponent was at 14 with a tapped 6/4 menace, I was at 3, I had a 6/6 scooze, drew the sisters and had a 1/3 chance to win outright. Got the counters and hit for 15.

I made a big mistake, I thought DRS made an extra G with badgermole cub out. It does not. So I made an extra mana twice, which I feel terrible about. I don’t think it mattered significantly in the games where it happened, I was already pretty ahead but I’ve never played with cub before.

2 big mistakes, #1 was not leaning harder into GB, I probably could have committed harder but I had all these fetches, shocks and surveils that tempted me into 5 colors. #2 was just not grabbing that misty. Can’t remember what I took over it, but I had 3 fetches at that point but none were green.

Drafted the All A’s no B’s cube again this week. We had 2 pods of 6 and teamed drafted. Drafted a mostly green, 1/2 broken (good), 1/2 broken (bad) 5-color pile. My mana was interesting in a bad way. No green fetches, thought I had taken misty. Each fetch had a green shock tho. 3-0, team won 6-2-1

I know I don’t play commander, but people on the r/custommagic subreddit are so bad at card evaluation.

This custom card is broken with the combination of dramatic reversal, isochron scepter and two mana rocks.

No it is not. Come on.

My wife and I do a traditional Valentine’s dinner outing the week before/after the actual day. I’m able to book a reservation at a nice restaurant a week beforehand rather than 12 weeks. On the day proper I spend a few hours making a nice meal. It’s been a nice tradition. Making pazole today.

My fixing was kinda bad, but I think I made the correct decision to basically not play/pick double pipped spells below 4 mana. Long Feng seems good(?), but I did not want to pay 1BB. I think I should have prioritized at least one more fixing land. I could have taken the Jund landscape and passed it.

Drafted the Heavy Metal cube on Wednesday. An extremely proactive artifact heavy environment w/ poor fixing (which I love). P1P1 was steel-cutter, never played it before, card was quite good, but not absurd. Nothing in the deck felt super broken, and RB has been powered down before in this cube. 3-0

It’s the electoral college lol

There are 12 votes that players can obtain, and the person with the most of that resource wins that vote, then the person with the most votes wins. I won like 3 votes while having only 1 resource more than the next person, so I ended up with 7 instead of the spread looking like 4-3-2-2-1.

Got to play one of my favorite board games on Saturday. Argent:The Consortium. It ran 4 hours instead of the expected 3, but there was a new player and a lot of drinking involved. The final score can be so funny since it felt like a very close game but the final scores were 7-2-2-1-0.

Playing this Nuzlocke and got an eevee. Looked at its stats and it has a +Def nature and 31 SpeD IVs. I turned it into my favorite Pokemon (Umbreon) and it is just the chonkiest thing in my box. I got so lucky 🥲

Been a long time since I’ve gone 0-3, it happens 🤷🏽
I should have maybe moved into blue during the draft and abandoned BW, but the cube really needs some work before it’s a reasonable draft environment. Hard to tell that you’re misplaying when some cards are a 1-mana draw 5, and others are a 1G 2/2.

Drafted my own cube, the Lich get Licher yesterday. Haven’t made many changes since the initial build, still wildly unbalanced. You start with a Lich’s mastery in play, and games devolve from there. Drafted BW clerics and got completely hosed. The last player to draft BW also had similar issues. 0-3

Nuzloking Royal Sapphire right now and it is incredible fun. I’m not a seasoned Pokemon player, so the difficulty feels perfect.

And my deck happened to be really good at exiling stuff for Ketramose between the sculler, lion sash, emperor of bones, hildibrand and yojimbo. So cool that I got to play it in cube. Since I don’t play other formats I’ve never seen it action before.

My deck was mostly 2 drops so it wasn’t too bad. I think I navigated the draft well? Good B&W cards, saw silent clearing, tidehollow 7th and Ketramose wheeled. I did not want to first pick tinybones pack 2, but I figured bloodsoaked champ would wheel and it did. Might be my favorite draft of 2026.

I don’t think I made too many big mistakes this draft. The drafter sitting 4 across also ended up in BW, with a lot of the instant removal spells. So that explains why all the BW cards dried up as the packs got down to <=5 cards. I meant to play 16 lands but accidentally swapped out a swamp.

I got to strand a seal of doom and snuff out since I only had 4 white creatures. I returned a 4/4 hasty bloodghast and tidehollow with Quarry. My opponent was at like 4 against my 4/4 tidehollow and they tried to Ice it, I convoked out rescuer to give hexproof, so it was still tapped, just no draw.
