"The Bible says gay sex is OK but doesn't allow for non-monogamy" is a WILD and extremely unserious position to take.

We believe that LGBTQ+ people are already holy. That our lives and experiences reflect the divine in unique and much-needed ways. That our faith makes us queerer and our queerness makes us more faithful. Let's practice together. (Usually Brian posting)

I would choose to be gay.
Over and over and over again.
Two things can be true:
- I want to believe no one is irredeemable
- James Dobson made the world a worse place and we are better off without him
May those of us still here work to undo all the harm he wrought upon us.
Anyone who claims the Bible as one of their sacred texts should be abhorred by the US government's treatment of immigrants and doing everything we can to stop it.

July 1995. Bibi, then leader of the opposition, rallies a mock funeral procession as anti-peace, anti-Oslo Peace Process scream, "death to Rabin!" The life-size black coffin with PM Rabinβs name painted in white is visible, the noose is harder to see from here. Rabin was murdered in November.

Let history remember that this loathsome monster was inciting Rabinβs murder back in the day for trying to make peace.
Nobody can say they didnβt know, didnβt see, couldnβt have imagined.
This was as inevitable as all the steps that preceded it when heβs left unchecked.
No conscience.

"I am not afraid of God. I donβt mean that in a flippant way, nor in a βGod canβt touch meβ kind of way. I mean it in the deepest place of knowing that God is loving "

And in the times when I DON'T want to wear one or the other, I pay attention to why (TBH it's usually fear or shame, and that's important information)
29.05.2025 01:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I don't wear a jockstrap or tzitzit EVERY day (though I often wish I did), but when I do, now that I've made it an intentional choice and a sacred practice, it feels really special.
I feel connected to my community. I remember to honor my sexuality.
So I decided to try it. and since I'm Jewish, I decided to pair it with a tzitzit from The Tzitzit Project, a feminist, all-gender-inclusive to redefine and expand tzitzit for *all* Jews.
29.05.2025 01:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The idea really resonated with folks. One person said he already wore one daily but hadn't considered it holy before. Another decided to try. One woman (who is trans) shared about how wearing "women's" underwear was the first transition step that felt safe, since it was just for her.

I made an off-the-cuff suggestion that a jockstrap could even be considered something queer+sacred, if it affirms your sexuality and sensuality, if it connects you to your community who also wear the same thing, if it reminds you that you are good.
It kinda reminded me of tzitzit.
During that year's Queerness Every Day Challenge, one of the adventures was to get something you could see or wear daily to affirm the connections between your queerness and your spirituality.
Pride flags, ace pins, an anime toy in bi colors, a rainbow rosary were all things people tried.
Special clothes & objects are part of many religious traditions. Catholics carry rosaries, monks wear robes, nuns wear habits, Mormons wear temple garments, Jews wear tzitzit, and gays... well lots of gay guys wear jockstraps.
2 years ago I decided to start wearing one daily as a spiritual practice
