After 10 hours of playing, I ended today with a 3-5 record and a placement of 526/822.

I’m a little sad about how some of my games ended up, but overall I think 3 match wins at a giant tournament for a game I’ve realistically only been playing for 2 months isn’t bad 🙂 onto the next one!

1-3, now ineligible for day 2

I lost in game 3 to a really unlucky critical hit. It’s how the game goes but I’m a bit salty lol. Gonna play out the rest of my games for experience and prize tickets!

Update I am currently 1-2. One away from Day 2 elimination.

Opening a whole sushi restaurant at the regionals

After a ton of calcs, testing, and panicking, I think I've finally settled on a team to bring to my first ever Seattle VGC Regionals this weekend 🙂

I have no delusions of winning but the team is very fun and I've taken good notes for key matchups. All that's left to do is play!

Competitive friends: How do you handle and ration losing streaks?

I feel like I'm a competent player, yet sometimes I have streaks where I feel like I couldn't win a single game no matter what I did. What do you chalk these streaks up to? How do you move past them?

I think the lesson for wotc here is that too many sets crammed in too short a time is bad for everyone. Turtles is having like zero mechanical exploration or time to appreciate the cards, just anger about pizza art and lorwyn getting shorted.
