I guess the best way I can describe it is like... wanting to show off a really nice outfit to a group of people, but obviously no one wants a group of people watching them actually.. yknow, undress! The process of drawing just feels super intimate like that.

I get such awful anxiety drawing in front of people I feel like their eyes are burrowing into the back of my head. Idk why I've just always grown up feeling like everything I draw is being scrutinized so I prefer to drawn in complete private because then it's just me and myself.

I wish I didn't hate streaming art so much because it genuinely rules when you're doing it with a group you can bounce ideas off of, but 99% of the time it's people questioning every brush stroke and that shit kills whatever motivation I had to draw lmao

Extremely funny in hindsight that the person rallying this mob against a me, a middle eastern person who has the hots for a middle eastern character, was later found out to be a race faker and immediately bounced when they were confronted about it.

I think the worst experience by far was when I was like 19 and almost chased off the internet by a mob of people who kept calling me racist for drawing Pharah Overwatch kinda muscular and brooding because, as they said, I was "intentionally making her look like a gorilla" (real quote)

I've become really avoidant of drawing or even indulging in real fanart for media I like because I've had a ton of unsavory experiences with people and toxic fandom spaces so it's extremely rare that I'm like "yeah fuck it... let's draw this shit and post it to the public lole".
