You mean, just like when Rishab Pant batted with a broken foot and Stokes et. al were deliberately aiming for the foot? 🀷

Recognising the stranger: On Palestine and Narrative by Isabella Hammad

To recognise something is, then, to perceive clearly what on some level you have known all along, but that perhaps you did not want to know. Not just the fielding but also the absence of death bowlers has let Eng down. All the games England have won on this tour have been unconvincing. Ironically this loss had been the best that they've played.

England lack both depth in their batting and death bowlers.

Great podcast. I enjoy Raf & Syd both playing devil's advocate. IMO- in the current reading of a flawed rule--Tammy was out but no one wanted to open that can of worms. This and the Dean run-out row come from an anachronistic moral code rather than fairness and competition. Fix the damn rules ICC!

Haha please.. It was clearly obstructing but if given out, England would've whined about it for years

The boos must've been awful & as your Guardian piece said, it did sour Jhulan's farewell. Still, imo, calling it the Deepti mankad (and that bizarre ECB ad with the samosa) perpetuates a narrative that what Deepti did was wrong when clearly Dean was in error by repeatedly leaving her crease.🀷

Didn't India win that last game? And perhaps you meant to say the Dean run-out.

Hmm..How so? England (using their perennial "in transition" excuse) is likely going to be out in the group stages but India will give the Aussies a run for their money.

King Longton quote--I don’t think people have demons.

I think they have themselves and things they aren’t ready to be honest about yet.

It is not easy to come to grips with the fact that we’re capable of hurting people with the same instrument we love them with.

The heart is a hungry wolf
and it is made of glass.

And sometimes I have patients who start off by being very symptom-focused, and then as treatment progresses, they start becoming more and more story-focused, and when that happens, it is usually a sign of clinical improvement.

One hundred percent agree. This England women's team is looking like WI was in the last Eng-WI bilateral now--at sea with bat, ball and in the field. Should've been a whitewash by India though.
