Might be my favorite lineup since 2017's of

Timothee Chalamet, Daniel Kaluuya, Daniel Day-Lewis and Denzel Washington. Ruined only, of course, by Gary Oldman's horrendous work (and win) for The Darkest Hour

Funny to see so much consternation about who might win Best Actor this year when I think, top to bottom, it's the best lineup we've had in many years. Not a bad performance in the bunch, in fact, all five are pretty terrific. Wouldn't be mad at any of em. It's Wagner Moura tho

Lapid's prior work has felt angry and forceful, like he's trying to scream sense into his fellow Israelis. With Yes, it's not so much anger as it is revulsion. He's done trying to change minds, maybe it's better to just see how far gone you are.

One of the few films that takes the idea of a Free Palestine not only as read but as a statement of fact. Lapid operates from the position that you should understand that Israel's existence is fully built on subjugation, and here's how that's warped the minds of its people.

Can't stop thinking about Nadav Lapid's latest, Yes. By eliminating the question of "is this a Genocide?" (answer's in the title), Lapid can fully focus on the utter depravity of the Israeli propaganda machine and the eager submission of its citizens. Wild stuff
