I'm listening to a presentation that started with a Mean Girls reference but quickly went to talk about Berlusconi and I feel like this thing of life getting so wrong so quickly is a good metaphor for the current times

I also have a lot of great ideas for the future.

But I want to be honest, as academic life (and projects like Marie Curie) are too often glamorized: I am probably the most exhausted I have been in years.

I'm glad for this journey, but also looking forward to prioritize me

Today, my Marie Curie project MERGE turns 2, and I officially finish my outgoing phase.

This means only 1 year is left of the project

Letโ€™s see what happened in these 2 years:

Anyway, the winner isโ€ฆ Barcelona!

But Venice was #1 for almost 2 decades

(Actually Bochum has a very special place in my life story as itโ€™s the only city I lived in that isnโ€™t famous for being super nice & charmingโ€ฆ)

Very dear to my heart! But alas, no

Oh really? Thatโ€™s great! I lived there in 2008 so surely things changed and in any case itโ€™s totally beautiful!

Beautiful, but no. Too many rats and too many people who criticized my accent (which, by the way, is charming)

I lived in Venice, Bologna, Tokyo, Paris, Bruxelles, Boulder, Bochum, The Hague, Barcelona.

Try to guess: what's the absolute best?

Iโ€™m thankful bc, when I was in the US, I had great friends inviting me for Thanksgiving.

But this year Iโ€™m mostly thankful Iโ€™m not in the USโ€ฆ not celebrating itโ€™s better than celebrating in the land of that-certain-president โ€ฆ

Sometimes Iโ€™m happy that AI is making ppl dumb, so eventually the smart ones will take over and create a better society

(Obviously a joke this will never happen)

โ€œVictims of feminismโ€: exploring networked misogyny and #MeToo in the manosphere The manosphere is a detached set of websites and social media groups united by the belief that men are oppressed victims of feminism. Even though the manosphere has existed since the early 2000s, i...

This unfortunately also affects religious women who do online activism for gender equality and to denounce the abuses of religious institutions.

So, today more than ever, let's try making the Internet a better space...

โžก Women who are more public (politicians, journalists, influencers) may feel silenced by violent comments and threats

โžก The Internet help radicalize misogynist people, see the manosphere

The 25th of November is the international day for the elimination of violence against women

But are women safe online?

Unfortunately, not always. That's why:

โžก Verbal violence online is correlated with physical violence

Toddler: โ€œyou know what we can do? Dad cooks, mom works, I play at the park with grandmaโ€

Not sure all our roles are perfect but at least we went beyond traditional gender stereotypes

My toddler kid asked a question.

I said I didnโ€™t know the answer.

They said, โ€œcanโ€™t you make an hypothesis?โ€

And it was hard for me as I had to explain Iโ€™m mostly qualitative so itโ€™s more of a research question

I complain a lot about academic precarious jobs and the international moves I was forced to do, butโ€ฆ

Some time ago I met a musician who toured the world with a famous band and they felt *I* had the most interesting life because, well, I literally lived everywhere.

Catalan singer Rosalia dedicated an album to mystics, saints, warriors, singing about some great Catholic women like Hildegard of Bingen, Teresa of Avila, Joan of Arc.

On IG, @sophiasgaler does a great analysis of this album in terms of languages and Saints, so check it out!

ROSALIA- LUX

I feel like everyone (at least in my feed) is listening to Rosalia's new album LUX, and obviously I'm into it for professional reasons...

I told toddler, in simple words, what happened to Jesus.

She commented: so when he came back from the death, what did he say? I bet he looked at people and said, โ€œyouโ€™re all naughty and mean!โ€

Iโ€™m not telling this to my funding agency
