Hehe yes, itβs hard to be patient when an episode ends on a mini-cliffhanger - but at least thereβs a choice; as later on we will be forced to be patient! π§

Ah, that could be the case (I will go back tomorrow & have another look) π
Btw, the assassin stuff happens in a later episode, so I ought not have mentioned it - but as youβve read the book it shouldnβt be a major spoiler (if the drama is following the book)
Itβs right at the beginning of episode 6 - so if youβve only watched up to ep 5 it explains why you havenβt seen it yet

Oh thanks, I overlooked that moment - I guess thatβs the benefit of reading the book! π
So sheβs shown her fatherβs technique to Xie Zheng, but maybe thatβs not how/why she & her sister were hunted down by the assassins
I donβt know how far youβve got in terms of episodes?, but he has a flashback to his mother during a moment of revery
(I wonβt go into details about it because people are still watching - but it certainly makes one ask what went on in his past & with his parents)
Just a speculation - but if she has unwittingly revealed her fatherβs fighting technique to Xie Zheng, I wonder if this is also how whoever sent the assassins discovered her?

Youβre referring to the book, right? So youβre saying that in the book she has a special martial arts technique that she keeps secret from others?
Has she shown this technique already in the drama? (because Xie Zheng seems to have connected her fighting technique to the person who he trained with)
Iβm tagging Mae Mae @dramaddict.bsky.social, because this is one of her favourite shows, so Iβm sure sheβll be interested in your progress & want to offer feedback & encouragement π

While π more generally βsymbolises wealth, luxury, beauty, & rarity. It can also represent high quality or something precious in lifeβ
But both can be used for similar purposes
Both emojis are similar - I donβt really know what they represent in themselves specifically apart from jewellery; but apparently π is
βa symbol with origins in Japanese digital culture, often representing cuteness, flowers, or specific nuanced emotionβ
Itβs super cute βΊοΈ
If you recollect, it was the scene we were describing to you from the trailer?
The trailer was bookended with their brief kisses, so it stood out; but I must admit in the drama itself I almost missed it, it was so brief!

No - not forgivenβ¦ π π
But seriously, thatβs fine Ciele - as I said, my mind initially thought of similar hashtags too anyway (even though you were replying to something else); so itβs all good (Iβll as Peppa to unblock you π)
The scenes involving pigs use a mixture of cgi & real footage, so thereβs a certain audience distancing that takes place - meaning it doesnβt feel completely real
There is real meat-food though, but thatβs something we see in many or most Chinese dramas
Yes, #jadepig (or #piggyjade) sound fun - either of those works for me βΊοΈ

lol - when I saw the earlier post asking for hashtags like #teaspillers, my mind immediately went to #pigspillers, #pigsbloodspillers, etc - so I understand the logic π

If you want to use βpigβ in the hashtag, then something like #piggyjade or #piggydrama would be fine
But #jadedrama #jadeboss or #mysteryhairpin are other options
And thereβs still #PursuitofJade of course π π
Iβm happy for people to use a fun hashtag - but perhaps, seeing as there are some vegetarians among us, maybe not pig-butcher lol π

We got to see some fighting prowess from them both; but it meant - for the 2nd time in a short period - Fan Changyu found herself lugging his body through the snow! βοΈβοΈ

Yes - Iβm also looking forward to the next phase, where it seems likely we will see more characters involved directly in the story (I love the way that separate school/college arc - or whatever it is - has been teased & slowly introduced) π

Sheβs diminutive in stature, but a total boss when it comes to beating up bad guys π
As for him, once he recovers from his wounds he will be her martial equal - but Iβm quite intrigued with how he will square his marriage to her with his official position in court (once he resumes it)
Trust me, you wonβt drop this one for the time being! βΊοΈ Iβm caught up on episodes (7 are out), & episode 8 canβt come quickly enough! - so if itβs going to be droppable, you wonβt feel it just yet π

Itβs interesting that while Xie Zheng has definite suspicions about her family, & the assassins clearly know something, she seems to be unaware of the connections her family may have to power
She seems to be the only one in the dark (Iβm guessing her parents wanted it that way, to protect her)
& mutual badass boss-ness that we are hopefully going to see come together in a major way as the story develops π₯ β‘οΈ

Heβs a matrilocal husbandβ¦ so, technically? π
But heβs also very injured & undercover - so while heβs actually very respectful & dutiful & sweet towards the girl boss, heβs also an actual boy boss! - so their dynamic has a mix of genuine matrilocal respect (from him to her), respect from her to him
#HowDareYou (32 episodes)
1. So much fun! I was engaged the whole way!
2. The leads were a great pair: funny, badass, and adorable
3. Quirky side characters. Mr. Bei was the absolute best!
4. Prepare to laugh and cry, sometimes within 10 minutes.

I just realised you may have been referring to the recent drama #UnveilJadewind ?
I liked it: itβs super atmospheric & has a brooding crime solving ambience - itβs a historical palace detective story
But while I personally liked it, thereβs no doubt #PursuitofJade is the superior drama π
