Hehe yes, it’s hard to be patient when an episode ends on a mini-cliffhanger - but at least there’s a choice; as later on we will be forced to be patient! 🧐

Ah, that could be the case (I will go back tomorrow & have another look) πŸ‘

Btw, the assassin stuff happens in a later episode, so I ought not have mentioned it - but as you’ve read the book it shouldn’t be a major spoiler (if the drama is following the book)

07.03.2026 22:53 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s right at the beginning of episode 6 - so if you’ve only watched up to ep 5 it explains why you haven’t seen it yet

07.03.2026 22:50 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Oh thanks, I overlooked that moment - I guess that’s the benefit of reading the book! πŸ™‚

So she’s shown her father’s technique to Xie Zheng, but maybe that’s not how/why she & her sister were hunted down by the assassins

I don’t know how far you’ve got in terms of episodes?, but he has a flashback to his mother during a moment of revery

(I won’t go into details about it because people are still watching - but it certainly makes one ask what went on in his past & with his parents)

07.03.2026 22:43 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Just a speculation - but if she has unwittingly revealed her father’s fighting technique to Xie Zheng, I wonder if this is also how whoever sent the assassins discovered her?

07.03.2026 22:38 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

You’re referring to the book, right? So you’re saying that in the book she has a special martial arts technique that she keeps secret from others?

Has she shown this technique already in the drama? (because Xie Zheng seems to have connected her fighting technique to the person who he trained with)

I’m tagging Mae Mae @dramaddict.bsky.social, because this is one of her favourite shows, so I’m sure she’ll be interested in your progress & want to offer feedback & encouragement πŸ™‚

While πŸ’Ž more generally β€œsymbolises wealth, luxury, beauty, & rarity. It can also represent high quality or something precious in life”

But both can be used for similar purposes

Both emojis are similar - I don’t really know what they represent in themselves specifically apart from jewellery; but apparently πŸ’  is

β€œa symbol with origins in Japanese digital culture, often representing cuteness, flowers, or specific nuanced emotion”

It’s super cute ☺️

If you recollect, it was the scene we were describing to you from the trailer?

The trailer was bookended with their brief kisses, so it stood out; but I must admit in the drama itself I almost missed it, it was so brief!

No - not forgiven… πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜…

But seriously, that’s fine Ciele - as I said, my mind initially thought of similar hashtags too anyway (even though you were replying to something else); so it’s all good (I’ll as Peppa to unblock you πŸ˜‚)

The scenes involving pigs use a mixture of cgi & real footage, so there’s a certain audience distancing that takes place - meaning it doesn’t feel completely real

There is real meat-food though, but that’s something we see in many or most Chinese dramas

Yes, #jadepig (or #piggyjade) sound fun - either of those works for me ☺️

#jadepig works ☺️

lol - when I saw the earlier post asking for hashtags like #teaspillers, my mind immediately went to #pigspillers, #pigsbloodspillers, etc - so I understand the logic πŸ˜‚

07.03.2026 20:02 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

If you want to use β€˜pig’ in the hashtag, then something like #piggyjade or #piggydrama would be fine

But #jadedrama #jadeboss or #mysteryhairpin are other options

And there’s still #PursuitofJade of course πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜…

I’m happy for people to use a fun hashtag - but perhaps, seeing as there are some vegetarians among us, maybe not pig-butcher lol πŸ˜‚

β€œDid I find a man just to keep me fit?” πŸ˜„

We got to see some fighting prowess from them both; but it meant - for the 2nd time in a short period - Fan Changyu found herself lugging his body through the snow! ❄️❄️

Yes - I’m also looking forward to the next phase, where it seems likely we will see more characters involved directly in the story (I love the way that separate school/college arc - or whatever it is - has been teased & slowly introduced) πŸ™‚

She’s diminutive in stature, but a total boss when it comes to beating up bad guys πŸ˜„

As for him, once he recovers from his wounds he will be her martial equal - but I’m quite intrigued with how he will square his marriage to her with his official position in court (once he resumes it)

07.03.2026 17:55 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Trust me, you won’t drop this one for the time being! ☺️ I’m caught up on episodes (7 are out), & episode 8 can’t come quickly enough! - so if it’s going to be droppable, you won’t feel it just yet πŸ˜‰

07.03.2026 17:10 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s interesting that while Xie Zheng has definite suspicions about her family, & the assassins clearly know something, she seems to be unaware of the connections her family may have to power

She seems to be the only one in the dark (I’m guessing her parents wanted it that way, to protect her)

07.03.2026 17:07 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

& mutual badass boss-ness that we are hopefully going to see come together in a major way as the story develops πŸ”₯ ⚑️

He’s a matrilocal husband… so, technically? πŸ˜…

But he’s also very injured & undercover - so while he’s actually very respectful & dutiful & sweet towards the girl boss, he’s also an actual boy boss! - so their dynamic has a mix of genuine matrilocal respect (from him to her), respect from her to him

I just realised you may have been referring to the recent drama #UnveilJadewind ?

I liked it: it’s super atmospheric & has a brooding crime solving ambience - it’s a historical palace detective story

But while I personally liked it, there’s no doubt #PursuitofJade is the superior drama πŸ‘
