Ramsey starts the move by dropping into a Rb zone, dictating play. Waits for Trippier to overlap then passes.

Whilst that happens he attacks/finds space behind Elanga.

Finally he gets the ball, carries it forward dragging Garner across and creates space for Joelinton.

This clip perfectly demonstrates what Ramsey can offer us.

In a rotational wide triangle, you need pretty complete players who can offer you good dribbling, passing and ability to find space. 1/ #NUFC

I don’t think we should keep him past this season personally, wages too high for a third choice. But I do think his in possession contributions are getting overlooked this season.

He's a key profile to our RHS triangle; his ability to orchestrate from deep and pick out passes has still been important for us. With no Bruno, I don't think we have another player who can get close to Trippier's ability to dictate from deep on the RHS. 2/

Trippier has had a lot of criticism this season, which is mainly focused on the physical parts of his game, which, due to age, have definitely declined. All of that is fair, but he does still hold a lot of value in possession. 1/ #NUFC

Agree. First leg at home is also a pain.

I watched that Atleti game a couple weeks ago…

They are far from perfect. Think we’ve got a real chance against them.

On the few occasions Woltemade has been in a build up situation, I think he’s handled it really well.

He’s wicked in tight spaces and is willing to take risks with his passing or carrying. With Bruno out, wouldn’t mind seeing him be given more responsibility in build up if he plays in midfield.

Didn’t like this from Nick yesterday. Gets too tight to Semenyo, body is square and plants both feet allowing Semenyo to breeze past.

I am mostly positive about tonight, it was some effort but that second half shown a clear issue with us when we are trying to break down sides. 0 open play XG in that second half isn’t good enough.

2-1 loss to City isn’t anything to be too disappointed about though.

Physically and athletically he doesn’t look good enough for an Eddie Howe side.

Short term have him in midfield until the end of the season and then recoup some value in the summer? It wouldn’t surprise me.

Big big fan of Gruda. Him and Diomande both playing for Leipzig… might have to tune in.

Really couldn’t be arsed to watch Arsenal vs Brentford but just found out Barca vs Atletico is on ITV.

What a result

I’ve always struggled with the β€œHowe out” takes because of the mismanagement at board room level and as much as a lot of the criticism as been warranted this season I often can’t help but jump to his defence because of these factors. 4/

Simply if you are a well run club, it is usually a safer environment for a manager to succeed because the processes across the club are often a lot smoother, recruitment is usually better and this in turn makes a new or existing managers life a lot easier. 3/

We’ve been poorly managed at boardroom level for at least the last 18 months and the criticism Howe has been getting this season has been towards flaws that have not only existed this season but in previous season’s gone by. 2/

Listening to the athletic podcast about Frank’s departure and a point is made about how the dysfunction at the top of the club exposes the flaws of their recent managers more than other clubs.

I honestly think you could relate that to us this season as well. 1/ #NUFC

Funny people discussing Howe in or out. I'd rather ask whether our ownership is going to get their act together and demand more of the executive team. Howe has carried out owners for years #nufc

Some views on #NUFC struggles this season from a neutral.

Thought I would bring this tweet across here.

I think this is completely fair criticism towards Howe’s approach.

My only hope for UCL this season was for Rosenier and Carrick to be a bit πŸ’©

Doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case.

However atm I’m not even that confident we’ll finish in a European place.

First half shown real promise from a Newcastle perspective despite being behind but Slot switched his approach and exploited our offensive weaknesses.

Fair play to him and Liverpool but this is a worry that a side like Liverpool are willing to play that way against us.

From a Newcastle perspective this is a huge worry. Liverpool with a narrow lead at home were willing to give us more ball and more territory in the second half as they know our offensive struggles and our poor ability against blocks.
