Just ran a #Daggerheart one-shot for another one of my #DnD groups due to the reduced cognitive load and how busy I've been recently.

They asked to switch to Daggerheart.

This is the second group.

This was all super interesting! Thanks for the nuggets!

However, that's why folks like ourselves and @thewelshdm.bsky.social can help guide our communities, and I trust folks like @mikerunderwood.bsky.social to steer the ship in the right direction.

Newbies to the #TTRPGcommunity may find themselves intimidated by learning how to play a game, run a game, and build an entire world from lore to NPCs *all at once*.

@ericlazure.bsky.social I think I get where you're coming from, and a part of me shares your bias and wants to see that philosophy "win" where people realize they don't need somebody to write their story for them.

On the other hand, learning to tell stories is a skill in its own right.

I've heard somebody say, "I just can't do 2 D&Ds in a weekend," in reference to #Pathfinder and #Daggerheart.

I'm sure many people fully grasp the difference, but I think a lot of folks just think of ©, ®, and ™ as "tiny letters companies write next to words that mean I'll get sued if I use them".

Me, SICK, after performing and working a #BaldursGate3 event till 2 AM, waking for an #Ironsworn session at 8 AM, running a paid #DnD session immediately after at 11 AM, prepping for my #actualplay charity Daggerheart livestream, and running that #TTRPG stream the next day for almost 5 hours. 🤧

Thank you to @criticalrole.bsky.social and @spenserstarke.bsky.social for designing such a CLEAN system! Compared to running the stream with #DnD, running it with #Daggerheart instead has been a dream, and my players have LOVED it. Never going back. Lol

Our burlesque+TTRPG actual play charity livestream was a SUCCESS! Thank you to those who popped in to support while we played Daggerheart, taught consent, and fought demons!
