World Chess champion Gukesh arrives in Chennai to warm welcome 18-year-old Gukesh becomes youngest world chess champion, defeating Ding Liren, with warm welcome upon return home.

As he stepped out of the terminal, joy erupted. The cameras went berserk, and there were rhythmic chants of “Gu-kaaaae-sh, Gu-kae-sh!” The mirth was tectonic. The crowd seemed to converge on him. Everyone wanted a piece of him.
