We now have a _proper_ public frontend, so that when you link our posts others can see replies, reactions and other stats natively.

@rexo makko is our small blogging tool, it's an SSG like Hugo or Eleventy but _significantly_ less complex and more portable

or in other words, a tool to make your site and blog come to life that's entirely in your hands, not that of a corporation

We've upgraded #Forgejo to 13.0.0!

Among other things, it can now display our custom emojis in the autocomplete, which isn't a massive thing but is the user-facing thing that we thought was cool in this release

Replacing Discord

The Starlight Network is joining forces to help work on Polyphony.

The UK is still trying to backdoor E2EE communications and files in Apple's iCloud suite of services. This time, they want it only for UK users, but that doesn't change anything.

The Starlight Network migration is complete!

finally, no more horribly old packages and more streamlined configuration, especially around containers

we are back! iceshrimp took...a lot longer than we expected to say the least.

Prosody is migrated!

Next up is this very fedi instance. This one _should_ be quick. See ya on the other side!

Next up on the list of services to migrate is Prosody.

This will incur some more downtime, during said downtime we won't be reachable via admin@starlightnet.work on XMPP. We expect this to take a little bit longer.

Forgejo is migrated _and_ updated!

With that, our Minecraft server and required infrastructure are now moved to the new VPS.

Despite my best efforts, I wasn't able in the slightest to hold the ~1 hour deadline due to unexpected complications with configuring Drasl.

For now, Drasl will be down. I'll publish updates once things are ready.

We've decided it probably makes more sense to move _incrementally_ , not all services at once.

As such, the first move will be for our Drasl instance and Minecraft server. Those will go down sometime within the next 20 minutes for no longer than an hour.

It was planned, but due to unexpected health complications I couldn't get the time (or sleep) to actually do any of the migrations.

We expect to do it this week still, as my symptoms are improving, if nothing gets in the way.

During this time, we may keep status.starlightnet.work online, whereas everything else will enter a maintenance period.
