I just reread my #larp submission for blackbox cph 26. When asked about safety tools, past me wrote:

This is a story about breaking free. It is an act of rebellion. The path to safety is to play the larp.

I'm in my thirties but I feel like a teenager:

My side gig is running #d&d for 11-14 year olds. This coming week I am doing 3 sessions.

My home games ran yesterday, tonight and we have our next session this Wednesday.

Today I had my first session at a side job, gming #D&D 2024 at an after school program. I'm jumping into an already started mission based west marches campaign. 35 kids age 10-13 playing. Sessions are about two hours, I'm running 2-3 times a week.

I wake up to choose chaos. Going back tomorrow.

On the other hand I also need the quest/mission based rewards.

I like to have tools that drive players to engage with my story rather than derail it completely and "Proceed North".

With that in mind I think the group/mission-based rewards could be proportionally larger than the personal.

I really like it. It feels good to get rewarded for doing what you want to do as a player.

Getting some Skyrim vibes too. To get good with the bow, you need to fire the bow.

All I remember is suggesting that we tried using a "player journey". Thinking about every step from the moment a potential player learned about the larp and until they potentially sign up for the next one.

If anyone wants to give it a go then Google Forms have a "Make this a quiz" option that can be turned on in settings.

Well this certainly is an incentive. I think it is bold, and gives some responsibility to the players. However, it also restricts my casting.
