Every year I’m in a mental state of hibernation from November through March

I always wonder how men survived before when they claim they can’t do any share of the tasks at home because they work full time. Sure it’s a little different with kids but - we all have to work full time and do all the household chores on top, what exactly did you do before you had a wife??

It annoys me for absolutely no reason when people never remember in which direction the clock is being turned. Like please it’s twice a year, every year, and it’s not that hard to remember? Are you dumb?

Allowing remote work for office jobs would be solving so many problems we have (more available housing in big cities, a higher population in the dying smaller towns and villages, higher productivity cause no commute) but nooo we can’t allow that someone may run their washing machine while working

The older I get, the more appealing it seems to me to just take off three whole weeks at once instead of splitting my holidays over the year

I mostly know richer people going on holidays there because expensive luxury resorts etc are common (and I guess cheaper than in France for example) and they can afford it. Usually poor people don’t even get to leave their own country, but also for a “budget holiday”… it’s certainly not Greece lol

Maybe it depends on where you’re from but Greece is definitely not considered a “poor people’s vacation” in my environment 😅 in fact my parents have never been to Greece (although they’d love to) because it’s too fucking expensive and they’re not even “poor” to normal people’s standards

Ok but there is only so much housing you can build realistically. Of course there needs to be built more and regulations are also important, but in the long term it’s not good if there is too much inequality in a society

But doesn’t it drive up your prices? All I hear from people in Spain or Portugal is that they HATE expats working remotely with US salaries because they pay high prices for everything that locals could never afford (especially housing) and it makes everything way more expensive for everyone

I don’t get it. Americans complain the job market is bad, then they move to Europe to countries where the job market is also bad, and work remotely for a US company 🧐 why not stay in the US then in some beautiful place away from big cities? Where you could also do your remote job, and build a house?

I don’t need tax cuts for myself I’m only asking conservatives to show some basic empathy with the poorest in society for once, but apparently that is too much to ask for

it’s a moral perspective that’s very easy to adopt when you’re being fine yourself but it sounds like you are in fact happy about those already disadvantaged in society losing their rights, or at best like you don’t care about them aka you’re really lacking empathy

Just in case you’re interested in my perspective - that would be a massive turnoff for me too. It sounds like the typical hypocritical “guilty white man’s mantra” to say shit like “we deserve this”, usually while not being affected themselves at all and not giving a fuck about those who are. Like

Yeah we are all “living above our means” but of course conservatives never ever mean themselves with it, the only goal is to keep their own lifestyle while the poorest in society get even poorer. THEY live above OUR means.

I’ve learned a Greek word. Kakistrocracy. A government ruled by the least suitable or competent citizens of a state. I think that’s a perfect description of Germany in 2025

My time at university (in Germany) was easier because it was still before Covid. Now everything including rent is more expensive and students are often basically below the poverty line while the understanding or empathy in our society is very low. People don’t understand that it *is* harder nowadays

Somehow Spanish food is very overrated but also really good, but also not that special because a lot of it is stuff I can just make at home on a random Tuesday as it’s just “common Europe food”, but maybe exactly that makes it great

People complain a lot about Germans switching to English when they want to practice their German but u know that happened to me in Spain too. I think it’s usually just trying to be polite. But I really kept responding in Spanish and insisted while they kept talking English all the time and idk why

Haha it’s zodiac sign, moon sign and ascendant. I had a zodiac sign phase as a teenager and calculated those at some point, that’s why I know 😅
