Incredibly telling Kemi Badenoch interview on Today:
- canβt say what sheβd actually want UK forces to do
- no idea what objective her proposed military action is to achieve
- hides from reality that single biggest constraint on British military = her govtβs defence cuts
I was 100% wrong in my criticism of Starmer at the weekend over his position on Iran. He has called it correctly. That, in and of itself, makes him a PM of consequence historically. Domestically, he remains terrible (sorry, he does), but internationally he is the best we've had for a long time.

04.03.2026 19:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Most of this country's problems are down to the toxic right wing press, bone idle broadcaster amplification of bad faith reporting and lies, and politicians' fear of challenging the status quo. That and our forelock tugging deference to well-connected, pig-ignorant chancers with cut glass accents.

What Starmer could say:
I will always put the UK's interests first. I believe a strong relationship with the US is in our interests, so I try to ensure a good relationship with the US President. But if he does not like what I do, so be it. I will always put the UK's interests first.
