Me too, says my head... But my heart? Wouldn’t it be delicious to see them go down, just for one season? Everton have teased us with this so often.

This guy’s penis must be inverted or something. Such tiny dick energy.

Incredibly telling Kemi Badenoch interview on Today:
- can’t say what she’d actually want UK forces to do
- no idea what objective her proposed military action is to achieve
- hides from reality that single biggest constraint on British military = her govt’s defence cuts

I was 100% wrong in my criticism of Starmer at the weekend over his position on Iran. He has called it correctly. That, in and of itself, makes him a PM of consequence historically. Domestically, he remains terrible (sorry, he does), but internationally he is the best we've had for a long time.

Most of this country's problems are down to the toxic right wing press, bone idle broadcaster amplification of bad faith reporting and lies, and politicians' fear of challenging the status quo. That and our forelock tugging deference to well-connected, pig-ignorant chancers with cut glass accents.

Am sticking with my bet that the right is reading this wrong and that the majority of voters are not at all unhappy Starmer has upset Trump by holding back from a war whose purpose and end game no-one seems able to define.

If energy bills spiral & inflation spikes again, Labour have got no chance in 2029. It’ll be Green or Reform.

Pharoah-nuff. Too many people are in de-Nile that they have high expectations when they don’t.

100%. Why is the BBC political editor writing about the implications of Trump’s latest brain fart for the PM when he could just as likely be Starmer’s best mate again next week?

04.03.2026 13:18 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Just don’t get the β€˜Starmer has handled the politics of this badly’ takes.

I don’t disagree, but also: a lot of ink is being spilled to try and β€˜explain’ the Labour position, as if scepticism about Trump’s β€˜plan’ for Iran is an unusual or hard to fathom conclusion.

I am sure this interview will make a lot of people angry but given Frith's bona fides it's probably incumbent on folks to engage with her constructively.

I get the strong sense that the bulk of media are calling Starmer's position on Iran entirely wrongly right now. I simply don't believe that most people out there are either as hawkish as the Tories or as anti-everything as the Greens. Being conflicted in the middle seems about right to me.

What Starmer could say:
I will always put the UK's interests first. I believe a strong relationship with the US is in our interests, so I try to ensure a good relationship with the US President. But if he does not like what I do, so be it. I will always put the UK's interests first.
It's not hard
