i just saw that it’s only been 8 days since i posted my wip on ao3 yet it genuinely feels like i’ve lived at least 2 lives since then. if i could measure time only in fanfiction and not in how drained i feel from employment the world would be a better place

If you're doing callout posts about artists creating fictional taboo content, you may not consider yourself a fascist, but you are one. You are their stupid tool at the bare minimum. The good news is you can stop doing that at any time

i genuinely wish people would step back for even a second and understand that their proximity to fascism has nothing to do with their outward performative measures and that understanding how certain actions can lend credence to the growth of fascism is just as important to understand as opposing ICE

all that to say narrative journalism/papers and short stories still probably have the strongest hold on the way i write

once i got into english translations of academic papers and books i started really paying attention to my syntax. it made me realize that i could think of my writing in my native tongue and it could in someway advise the way i wrote in english

around that time i also delved into horror novels and short stories, so a lot of my voice comes from the framework of suspense and succinctness. but in college i started expanding the genres and eras of books i read which helped me find footing in new more experimental ways of writing

around 10 i started writing fanfiction, but a lot of my style was still relegated to how i was taught to write in school. it wasn’t until i was probably in 11th/12th grade that i developed a voice both in fiction and in general school essays

i started creative writing in elementary school, but my idea of writing styles expanded when i started reading fanfiction mostly bc it wasn’t organized in the same way an elementary school’s library organized books. it just exposed to me more ways a scene/story can be written.

how did you develop your current writing style? i’m very interested in the journey you took to get to where you are in your writing today.
