Because I believe in harm reduction and me being behind the wheel of a vehicle goes against that principle.

People romanticise the British countryside but I can't leave my village after 5.30pm for the next 3 months unless I can get a lift home or want to pay for a taxi (I can't drive). All because the main road through the village is shut for major roadworks and the shuttle buses only run from 8am-5.30pm.
