THE OMEN & THE SHIELD

Both bodies ripe for harvesting for materials, if one wished...

ransacking villages, destroying towns, killing other dragons, and eating innocent people, the two dragons had been soundly defeated.

Omen's body trembled as the nervous system fired randomly, and Shield's corpse rested at the bottom of the ocean, unless it was moved somewhere.

Light pierced through the bottom of the dragon's skull, through the brain, through the sky.

The dragon's corpse hit the ground with a climactic THUMP and rolled several times, wings torn into shreds and a trail of disturbed dirt and scale fragments littering the ground around it.

After months of

manifesting as a red haze around the dragon as it swept down toward the spider, finding that, in its rage, its body had recharged itself.

A spew of gray fire emerged from the dragon's mouth, aimed for the spider and the rider as revenge for Shield's demise.

Omen turned, shifting, as Shield descended into the depths, and the dragon disappeared from sight. A column of lightning and the blinding flash made the dragon turn away.

"YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!" Omen shrieked, then dove toward the spider-creature, and the one that rode upon it, a vicious fury

its feet, until it reached the edge of the cliff and barreled over with a defiant screech.

Shield, meanwhile, faced the waves. It would dive into the water and then burrow from the base of the cliff back up to the village.

The large dragon barreled in a slow arc back around toward the waves, gaining speed as it rushed and crushed grass underneath

With the Leviathan seemingly unlikely to surface, Omen retreated from the water, swooping toward Shield. It did not yet have its breath weapon recharged, and so settled for simply gaining ground so that it could get a better view of the area and decided its next attack. Helping Shield by attacking

"GET OFF ME!" the dragon shrieked at the spider-creature on its back, thrashing its heavy tail around but unable to twist it enough to hit itself on the back where the spider had perched.

Omen flew low over the surface of the water, eager to be there when the creature resurfaced to then punish it for surfacing.

Shield put the brakes on and slid through a blacksmith's shop, sending wood and metal exploding through the rest of the village while its momentum carried it onward.

Omen recharged its breath weapon and aimed at the Leviathan that had just attacked it, discharging another stream of mental torment, showing Leviathan multiple realities where it did not survive this fight.

Shield, now out of the ground, continued the charge toward

Shield emerges from the ground with a roar, then charges for the spider, ignoring Omen as it is caught off guard by the electricity and jolted by it, limbs flailing as if it were dancing to an invisible song.

The two dragons had no contact with Sundrinker. They had no backup, and they weren't a

efforts.

Omen released a confused grunt as it was used as an anchor point, not once, but twice, its wings straining to keep itself in the air while Shield dove into the ground to keep itself from being stung.

Omen fell like a bag of rocks, plummeting to the ground in an effort to throw off the spider's

traveling far faster in the ground than it had in the sky. It shot upwards just in front of where it thought the spider would be, aiming to rake it with its claws.

Omen turned from the disappearing creature and toward the strangely-shaped spider, feeling drained from using its Walk the Timelines ability.

Shield was the one that shot forth to meet the spider head-on, all too happy to have something to attack. It burrowed underneath the ground and surged forth,

as real as the Leviathan's electricity attack, but it would attack the mind itself.

Shield, unsure of what had just happened, burrowed to the outskirts of the town and rose up, looking around in confusion with its large bulldog-like head.

sideways, trampling over person and animal alike before it spread its wings and flew low, banking wide and moving to align with the airborne version of Omen. Both dragons merged together to form one, and a burst of platinum fire emerged from its mouth, heading toward the Leviathan. The breath was

Omen splits in two, two identical versions of the same dragon; one ducks underneath the onslaught of electricity, while the other takes to the sky, shooting up like a bat out of hell before it turned toward the massive Leviathan emerging from the waves.

The dragon on the ground launched itself

Shield tunneled underneath the village, burrowing rapidly through the buildings, disturbing

Omen - a dragon of black scales and wings that constantly shifted in color patterns - landed in the center of the village, oblivious in its ego to being watched from afar.

"We have come with tidings from the SUNDRINKER," Omen shouted psychically, so everyone would hear it speak, "that you have been

The pair of dragons were circling over a small village, unaware they themselves were being watched. The ocean beneath crashed into the high cliff walls bordering the coastal village, and villagers screamed in terror at the two dragons soaring overhead.

Do they rest?

Deep trenches of dirt led from the village to a deep ravine nearby.

Broken bodies littered the ground below, ruined structures casting long, flickering shadows as the sun waned overhead.

Smoke curled into the horizon above a burning village.

Smoke in the distance joined it, clogging the sky over this area of the Ring.

The two dragons made their way into the depths beneath, their task done for the day. Bloody footsteps from the village leading to the yawning maw of a cavern.
