I think it depends on the game and wether the lower framerate was taken into consideration during development.
A game like undertale could be designed around 1 frame per second very easily (though it very obviously wouldn't be the same game anymore)
I think the biggest problem is unstable framerate.

We have zero evidence for mars hosting intelligent life.
The planet very likely did have oxygen producing microorganisms, but it died off probably due to the planets weak magnetosohere not being able to support a thick atmosohere.

funnily enough I heard linux handles old games better than windows
if you don't wanna commit, you can always install linux on a separate drive

Pretty sure almost all linux distributions run games the same way and if they don't then proton takes over so it should work in pretty much every distro?
