News! I updated the forest asset kit to Unity 6!
Here is what I changed:
- create a separate shader for the HDRP version of the plant parts
- added some fake subsurface scattering for URP (you can turn this on or off)
- added SSS for HDRP
- added a default normal to make everything a bit smoother

What do you get by purchasing this pack of #gameassets?
- Over 100 prefabs that are ready to go! Just drag them into your scene!
- 3 already assembled little diorama prefabs that can only be found in this package!
- The package contains prefabs and materials for both URP and HDRP!

I‘m pretty sure something like this works in engine but I only have experience with creating e.g. blend shapes, not making them actually work in engine ^^

Big update on the upcoming forest pack! I made some oak trees and I re-did the raspberry and blackberry bushes AGAIN lol. The third time is the charm, right? I am (finally) super happy with these though and I learned so much on the way so I regret nothing😤 #gameassets #indiegamedev #3Dart #assetpack

2) I have random size and rotation on the leaf blobs and the other falloff object (also a spherical volume) determines if that randomness is happening or not.

TLDR: Outside of the falloff object, none of the randomness regarding size/rotation or the spawning of the 2. leaf bubble is happening ^^

Procedural stuff is always so fascinating, right? ^^ There are two things happening here:

1) 2 "leaf blobs" with different geo spawning randomly on the vertices of a (invisible) proxy mesh. The falloff object is a spherical volume that determines where the random spawning is happening or not.

I knew I loved Maya's MASH networks but I recently learned about falloff objects you can use on these networks and omg they are a game changer for me! 💚 #Maya #3D #gameassets #3Dmodelling #3Dvegetation

Made some grass patches today and experimented with adding small plants in between the grass blades (which you find often in a forest). Very happy with how these turned out. Especially the one with the little red plants came out really cute I think ^^ #gameassets #indiegamedev #wip #3Dart

Reworked the raspberry bushes. Also added a blackberry version. Have been spending some time rearranging the overall layout of the atlas + updating all UVs, because slowly but surely, that atlas is running out of space and I need to decide which plants I can add still. #wip #gameassets #gamedev #3D
