Absolutely! It's a good thing I don't have any actual work to do.

Shocked to be in my 84th year. Lifelong blue voter, though I don't post or comment about politics, just cats, nature, photos, gardens, food. Buddhist, lapsed meditator, but still trying (often failing) to live the teachings of the Dhamma. Go Ducks!
Absolutely! It's a good thing I don't have any actual work to do.
04.03.2026 15:33 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Early morning walk. As usual, my efforts to capture the moon are not great but this is the best of the bunch.
04.03.2026 14:22 β π 29 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0All is right with my small world during the morning cuddle session. Happy #WhiskersWednesday.
04.03.2026 12:35 β π 22 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Rare around here. Weβre only allowed one, but apparently βyoungerβ people moving in arenβt interested in the garden so theyβre letting people have two, so they are cared for.
04.03.2026 03:47 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good idea! I was thinking onions, since I use lots of them. Garlic next year.
04.03.2026 02:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Yes, I left them. Tulips do well here. I think these are red.
04.03.2026 02:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Revamps my whole game plan.
04.03.2026 01:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes. And other things are in there. I donβt know how the strawberries are going to do, but weβll find out.
04.03.2026 01:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve just about decided to work with what I have, and if it doesnβt work, cheaper to buy plants. I appreciate your help.
03.03.2026 23:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Before: A yearβs worth of dead leaves and neglect, but I cleared most of it.
After: looks better. A little pruning and a lot of debris removal. Now what?
I was offered a second garden box. Right next to mine, fully organic. Current ownerβs health wonβt allow her to use it. Took a couple of afternoons to clear a yearβs worth of neglect. Donβt know what Iβll plant yet.
03.03.2026 23:20 β π 34 π 0 π¬ 5 π 0I've spent too much time with Google on this today. My mind is rebelling. Thanks for your suggestions, and I may get the Gped LED yet.
03.03.2026 20:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Those look doable for a countertop, and on half-price sale, to boot! I had in mind a round bulb that would screw into a flexible neck desk lamp, standard socket. These would cover a larger area.
03.03.2026 20:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's not even Dan Quale!
03.03.2026 18:30 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@thesnarkyfarmer.bsky.social I need some help. I want to start a few tomato seeds indoors and the grow lights I have are not adequate. Looking at full-spectrum LED lights that will fit in a standard socket, the choices are overwhelming. Need to keep cost low, too. Do you know of a good one?
03.03.2026 17:51 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0Lots of good options, if I only had an income. Social Security doesn't cut it, and nowadays that's not reliable long-term anyway.
03.03.2026 17:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lunch at sidewalk table, San Francisco. Foreground, Caesar salad, back, fried calamari, to the left a bowl of marinated olives, and of course, a glass of wine.
Those sound so good. Reminds me of some I was served as an appetizer at a small restaurant in North Beach, San Francisco. You can barely see some in the dish on the left. I don't know how they were prepared, but I still remember them all these years later.
03.03.2026 17:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0'Cause cats, mine included, are always guilty of something even if we haven't figured out what it is yet. They know. πΉ
03.03.2026 17:32 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Congrats! It's lovely.
03.03.2026 16:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yay for 50s! We've reached that point, for the most part, and even into the 60s during the day. Inconsistent, though, to say the least. Never know what to expect.
03.03.2026 12:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good morning Jean! It may be cold, but it's beautiful to look at.
03.03.2026 11:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Happy Birthday!
02.03.2026 20:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Aren't they all!πΉ
02.03.2026 15:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks, Pekka. I've tried this often, but I think this is the closest to capturing what I see that I find interesting.
02.03.2026 13:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You'll enjoy it! Helen Mirren, among others, and she's always good.
02.03.2026 13:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tall tree silhouetted against the artificial light of a building and the predawn sky, softened by fog.
Early morning walk around the building. This view always looks more interesting than any photo Iβve taken of it.
02.03.2026 13:23 β π 23 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Nice, but sad. She was a stalwart of the garden area. She's way fussy about what she eats and only grew tomatoes, which everyone was free to eat. I should ask her if there's anything she'd like.
02.03.2026 12:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes indeed! There was a great book/movie about it. Lady in Gold is the book, Woman in Gold the movie. I loved both. I may take the 10 minutes!
02.03.2026 12:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'll be 'sharing' the box with a neighbor whose health won't let her work it anymore, so I don't want to take her stuff out even though she offered me the box outright. Fun time of year -- at least we can plan crops, if not plant yet!
02.03.2026 12:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If I'd had it earlier, I would have done garlic. It may not be too late. It has strawberries, and I'm not taking them out, but there's space in the center. Cool on the CSA!
02.03.2026 12:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Really? Canβt a cat get any privacy? Morning ablutions. Also, #AlphabetChallenge #WeekIforInside
