I loved this clip. Loved, loved, loved, loved it.

I was there for Thurman Munson's game winning HR in Game 3 of the 1978 ALCS. George Brett hit three homers in that game, and then Munson (who had only six dingers all year in '78) blasted one over the 430 foot mark in left center (before they moved in the fences) to win it. It was awesome.

One of my favorites as a kid. Loved that guy.

I watched that replay three times to see if he had really thrown the glove or if there was some other explanation (like, it accidentally came off his hand or it was something else), and I still can't believe that an MLB player would do this. Wild.

That walk-off homer against Mark Littell in Game 5 was the most exciting thing that had ever happened in my ten-year-old life. I can still hear Bill White shouting "DEEP TO RIGHT!! THAT BALL IS GONE!!"

I thought the Houston Landing did terrific work and I was really bummed to see them announce their shutdown. Even worse if it was due to management incompetence. If you are so moved, please help their staff get through this.

For the record, opposition to the Houston-Dallas HSR line comes not from the cities but from the rural area in between. Long story and there's plenty of complexity, but the politics of it are simple enough.

Texas has a law that allows parents to give up newborns at fire stations or hospitals. Hardly anyone uses it. The Supreme Court cited safe haven laws as an abortion alternative when it overturned Roe v. Wade. But Texas’ policy lacks funding and just 172 infants have been relinquished since 2009.

Chaser: Texas was the first state to pass a "safe haven" law that allows newborns to be dropped off at fire stations or hospitals, no questions asked. But there was no funding to publicize it and so it almost never happens because no one knows it's an option.

One of the main points I want to make here is that our elected Democratic officials need to pick up a lot more of the load on this. Some do a lot, too many do little to nothing. We need them to care about this at least as much as we do. If they don't or won't, we need to find others who will.

Here's a look at how the 2024 Presidential race played out in all of the legislative districts and Commissioners Court precincts in Harris County. Spoiler alert: We Dems have some work to do to ensure we don't lose any offices we currently hold in 2026.

Reading that now, I'm so mad at the original story. There's definitely a conversation to be had about who is and isn't in Congress and how power is accrued there. I don't want to have to start that conversation by responding to lies. But here we are.

And I agree with you about expanding Congress. There would be many benefits from that.

My father-in-law passed away from Lewy body dementia this year, so I am indeed familiar with the experience. He could not have made a public appearance as Rep. Granger did a month ago while he was in memory care. Her absence should be explained, for sure. But this story is reckless speculation.

Oh my effing God. I gasped. I've been in a concert choir that did (mostly the highlights of) Messiah (we had some amazing soloists), and this just about did me in. I wish I knew how that happened.
