The people who brought you Brexit on a promise of โ€˜controlโ€™ now threaten civil unrest and frothing racism as govt policyโ€ฆ
For love of god can we just stop listening to anything they have to say. They represent nothing but inadequacy and failure. Surely our country can do better than this.

UK PM Starmer signals he will not block Rosebank oil and gas project British Prime Minister Keir Starmer indicated he would not stand in the way of the Rosebank oil and gas field, after a court blocked it, sending the decision to the government which had pledged not to issue any new licences.

Reminder to whoever needs to hear it: fast, unimpeded travel is not a constitutional or human right. Including and especially not if it is dark, or the sun is in your eyes, or people might be walking or biking nearby, or even if you are in a rush, or you pay taxes.

Whilst the police in London arrest blind pensioners in Wheelchairs for being anti-genocide, in Portsmouth the leader of UKIP makes a nazi salute at an anti migrant demo and the police do nothing. Welcome to Britain 2025.

Boxing is the only so-called "sport" where the intention is to inflict brain damage on your opponent - to win by knock-out. Yes, the boxers are supremely fit, athletic and strong and it is great fitness training, but how can we really consider thumping one another in the head as a sport?

Letโ€™s do some maths:

In 2024 the UK population was about 69 million, and there were about 37,000 asylum seekers arriving in small boats.

37,000/69,000,000 x 100 =0.0536

The small boat people represent 0.054 percent of the UK population.

But they are the main cause of trouble?

Yeah, right.

10.08.2025 10:50 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 48    ๐Ÿ” 11    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 3    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The threat to our society is not from asylum seekers in small boats. Itโ€™s from politicians and media cynically whipping up fear and prejudice, labelling them all as criminals, inciting hatred against people for where and what theyโ€™ve fled from.
It must stop. For all our sakes. Itโ€™s deeply sinister.

But Farage has had years more experience, and a loyal base of idiot supporters.

Ooh, look; Theresa May's Hostile Environment once again. ๐Ÿคฌ

How about, allowing asylum seekers to work, so that they can become productive members of society and removing the argument about staying in hostels at taxpayer's expense?

10.08.2025 15:53 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yep, I'd agree with that.
Then there are those lights that have gone so dim you would be hard pushed to detect in pitch black - I usually assume that they were ok when switched on, but the batteries have died.
You can still have type marked, rechargeable LED lights at good prices.

Always the case.
"They're punishing Brits!"
No, they're looking after their border security. Something that Brexit supporters seem to be very keen on, except when it inconveniences them.
And it applies to all non-EU states, which we wouldn't be if they hadn't done this stupid thing.

10.08.2025 08:54 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Some lights are better than no lights.
Given the pressures on police, I can't see how this could be enforced. We could allow only the sales of approved products, but the chances of being stopped for not having lights after dark are minimal.
I'm all for improving road safety for all, of course.

I'm angry, with this constant othering of migrants and asylum seekers, the fact that "small boats" is pushed as a major news item, the racist rhetoric and the promotion of Farage by the media.
I'm also angry that this stirs up idiots to form mobs outside the homes of vulnerable people.

Really frustrating seeing journalists continue using โ€œpeace deal.โ€ This is such an insult to Ukrainians. What โ€œpeace dealโ€ implies is rewarding a terrorist state committing genocide and an illegal invasion by an aggressor.

Iโ€™m sick of paying my tax to have it spent on 3000 extra police to patrol because white men and women want to cause a riot in their own country. These are the people Iโ€™m afraid of on our streets. Bang them up.

BBC News and Current Affairs are pushing a pro-Reform Ltd. agenda, talking to ill educated people who are spouting the anti-immigrant lines they've read in the Mail and Express. They will be as much to blame for this summer's #FarageRiots as the vile man himself, if they kick off.

As a cyclist you can follow every law and be tireless to mitigate every risk going, it still wonโ€™t stop you from being callously endangered by bad and dangerous drivers.

Despite the gutter press campaign to make you think otherwise, the true source of danger on the roads comes from motorists.

You wouldn't expect to groceries for free so why do you expect every other service to be.

I am so sick and tired of seeing MPs and the media shit themselves over refugees arriving in small boats over the channel.

If your initial reaction to seeing these boats is anything other than โ€œthose poor bastards, I hope they make it acrossโ€ then you have failed as a human being.
