Definitely considering just driving there and back at this point. It's not a bad drive from my area (though long). It'll mean I get to make it home in the expected timeframe after without much fuss...

Evelyn Osman Today we had some long conversations about Arc Bash and the future of scripting as well as platforms and the rise and fall of Kubernetes.\nThe fall of Kubernetes. Hmm. I'll have Claude write a new one

Want to learn why asking "Why?" is soo important?

How about the future of platform engineering?

We covered a lot in our latest episode of #CloudNativeCompass with hosts @rawkode.dev, @nimbinatus.bsky.social, and our special guest @chipnick.com

Check it out!

The start of a city block, with a bunch of people with flags and signs

Even in small-town Texas. Brief bit from the downtown Fredericksburg #NoKings. Full block full, both sides of Main Street. Lots of honking and cheering

Even before I heard the devastating, horrific news of political assassination in Minnesota, I woke up this morning thinking about Emily Dickinson's great poem "'Hope' is the thing with feathers -"

Lots of people know this beautiful little poem, but fewer, I think(?) realize when it was written. /1

YET another bluesky list of k8s folks, this time it's those who directly work in (and members of) various community github orgs.

bsky.app/profile/did:...

If you are one, add a bluesky url in your github profile and poke me to re-run my script.

for our new friends -- starter packs are a great way to find a list of people with similar interests to follow. There's no algo here so your feed will seem kinda dead until you start following people.

I want to choose a data removal service for data brokers and the like. I know about the massive opt-out lists on GitHub to walk through, but I know data will reappear on the brokers as soon as I finish. Right now comparing Incogni and DeleteMe. Anyone use one and have a real review/advice for me?

At last, there's a searchable directory of Bluesky starter packs, courtesy of @mubashariqbal.com! Just one more way third-party developers are helping to make this place better.

Search starter packs by keyword, and sort by "Uses" to see which ones people are finding the most helpful

I think it's also worth remembering for times ahead that resistance and assistance come in a lot of different forms, not all of them overt and public. In my own life, I send money for things I, for whatever reason, don't talk about publicly, because I've determined that's the best way to be useful.

Tip for new bsky folks: You can follow a feed like this timeline cleanse from @joshuajfriedman.com : bsky.app/profile/did:...

Then you can go into *Settings* > *Following Feed Preferences* > *Show Posts from My Feeds* to have them pop up at random. It's a great way to short-circuit doomscrolling
