I think this mindset predates adulthood for me, so definitely a long road to go… 😩

For now, I’m trying to figure out what interests I might have outside of “working”… because literally everything I can name as a hobby is tied to this issue.

I’m realizing how much I build my sense of belonging around the concept of “being useful.” When I’m working, I feel grounded. When I’m not, I feel lost. It’s why I spend so much time backstage at GDQ.

I’m trying to get myself to learn that I don’t have to earn my place in a room. (It’s not easy) 😅

Felt so good to stretch my improv muscles tonight after weeks of working mostly behind the scenes at events. I’ve realized how essential performing is to my mental health.

I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to Sisu who isn’t on social media, but was truly instrumental in making my vision come to life. It would NOT have happened without them. I’m so thankful to have been able to work alongside them all week. 💜

I am a very creative-minded person and thrive in fast-paced environments. My favorite parts of AGDQ were when I was able to quickly pivot and improvise to enhance the content being produced.

2 years ago, I was watching AGDQ for the first time and set myself a goal to find a way to get involved enough to be able to influence the interstitial set design. Now it’s my job. 😊

I was able to create 3 distinct sets in a very small space with limited resources and I’m very proud of it. 💜

I’m proud of the work I did at AGDQ, but it was lonely in a way I wasn’t prepared for. I really wish I’d had more opportunities to spend time with friends.
