Sec. @sosmaggie.bsky.social is right - free, fair, safe, and secure elections require reliable funding. Every state depends on well-trained staff, modern equipment, and strong cybersecurity.

Investing in election administration is investing in democracy itself.

Trump’s weaponized DOJ is trying to seize sensitive voter data - but Democratic Secretaries of State @greggamore.bsky.social, @sosmaggie.bsky.social, @vtsecretaryofstate.bsky.social, and @stevehobbs.bsky.social are standing firm to protect voters’ privacy and election integrity.

24 years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11 and honor the first responders who gave everything that day. We will never forget.

Sub post to this one, no one bothered to mention that Black people have been here as long as the Spanish conquest, much less that they were caught, enslaved, and brought over pretty quickly once white European started settling here

5/ if we can’t agree on the fundamental nature of this country, then we certainly cannot have a debate. If I say the sky is blue and you say it’s red, what is there to debate about? That is the fundamentals of debate. You have to at least have one core fact that you agree on in order to debate.

4/ (sorry I posted these out of order. My bad.) but what genuinely surprised me was the group’s reaction to Mehdi not being willing to debate a self-described β€œfascist β€œwho wants one more election and then autocracy from here on out.

3/ first of all, no one, not even Mehdi pointed out that people of color have been in this country as long as white people have. Actually, I take that back, a couple noted that indigenous people were here first and that the border crossed Mexico, not the other way around.

2/ but not about what you think I would be shocked about. It’s not surprising to me that so many people in this country have differing political opinions from mine.

What shocked me was the basic fundamental disagreement about what America is, its real history, and what it should be.

1/I watched this full video yesterday with a genuine desire to understand the point of view of people that I fundamentally disagree with. I think that it is important in a democracy or any shared society to do that.

I came away from watching this video, somewhat shocked
