I can’t read the article, paywall, but I hope you mentioned Oilers/Flames and Canadiens/Nordiques. I think Jim Peplinski of the Flames once said, half jokingly, he was surprised that no one was killed when they played each other! The Nords and Canadiens battle was ridiculous in intensity and spite.

Sad, but not surprising. In spite of what Basketball Bettman says, the NHL has no sense of morality. If they did no Russians would be playing in the league, but money talks while morals walk.
