Pretty much! There's some pretty interesting theoretical research that suggests how a reptile's body temperature impacts its temporal perception. tl;dr when their metabolism has to speed up when they're cold, the "framerate" at which they experience the world increases- and time appears to slow.

Reptiles in my setting spend quite a bit of time keeping themselves warm. I was thinking it would be neat for them to sit around fire pits where they enter this trance-like state until they're back up to temperature.

Lori: "Don't we look positively radiant this morning?"
Robin: ":)"
Lori: "...."
Robin: "......"
Lori: "Robin... did you...?"
Robin: "Hm?"
Lori: "You DIDN'T."
Robin: [guilty dog eyes]
Lori: "oh you duʊəg... you DID!"

At which point Lori hauls Robin off to get *every last juicy detail*.

There is a traditional Aarden saying about canines. There's no good translation, but it basically states:

"You can't lie to a canine, because you wear the day's events on your scent. A canine can't lie, because their face tells it all."

There's this little interaction that in my imagination...

Back in 2nd grade we had a local sculptor come in to talk to us about art and creativity. I remember her explaining the concept of a "happy accident", but I don't think I fully appreciated the meaning until somebody asked if the backlighting "feature" was intentional 😂

And on a personal note, it's kind of indescribable hear you say that. I remember the first time I ever saw your art I was blown away by your use of perspective and your ability to capture that authentic and unfiltered "Life, but how it actually looks" feeling.

It's come full circle haha! You put a lot of hard work into your art, and it shows in the quality and complexity of your drawings. That's something I admire a lot, and I think it's something that inspires a lot of other artists.
