Festivals display the customs & culture of a society. For the Nov. RPG Blog Carnival, I shared a bit on irl festivals and mythos focused on the change of seasons to inspire our TTRPGs! I only scratched the surface. Do you know any such festivals or folklore?

Nice. Will give Arkham a look! I find social & political intrigue game mechanics to be not as common. So I look for examples when I can find em. Thanks!
25.11.2025 19:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0SRDs are good for reference with no frills. Quick look ups & searches to check something or get the basic summarized overview. Easy to skim. Well structured organized concepts.
Otherwise good as a set of text you can hook into when making content based on it for the system.
Mausritter SRD is good
Worth noting archives of nethys, while useful and good for search, could use a better UX for navigation. Very disconnected results and lots of things on their own page with not as obvious or easy way to navigate between similar things.
25.11.2025 19:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Your book got me into looking at many TTRPGs, Pendragon included. I'm interested in game mechanics or guidelines for playing up reputation and politics of the court. Do you have any recs to help me get a better understanding or one of the Pendragon books you think covers this best?
25.11.2025 17:27 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oh I understand you now. :/ yes I got nothing. Mine is the same despite my blocking of Sports hashtag. I think they have to match specifically which does not help here. Can turn it off but that doesn't help if you want trending in your realm of interests.
23.11.2025 20:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That sounds like an interesting puzzle and adventure? Home made or store bought??
23.11.2025 10:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Under any post you can hit the ellipses and select "Mute words and tags" and then you set which words or tags you don't want.
This is how I avoid most undesired politics discussions. I came here to discuss TTRPGs and their design! (๏ฝกโข`_ยดโข๏ฝก )
Hmm. Tru. The espresso or coffee after dinner is typically after 4pm too. And that ain't decaf
23.11.2025 03:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Tea is great but superior? (. _ . ) up to personal taste at the end of the day. There just is some really good coffee out there. That's all.
23.11.2025 03:51 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oh, it _is_ cool. ๐
Jus YMMV on how that caffiene effects the rest of your day.
*says I, the one who just drank some at 6-7pm recently*
The FF Black mage is definitely a vibe and a trend setter ๐ I'm a big fan of the find enemy weaknesses too. This is a good point that magic users got more on their tool belt typically for that.
22.11.2025 20:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Been there. ๐ Having fun though?
22.11.2025 09:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Noice. OSR got good things to use for sure. ๐ The canonical lore is for an already played adventure?
22.11.2025 02:13 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Get stuck: tar pits, quicksand, grabby skeleton hands or shadows, classic hidden net trap, or bear trap
I like lairs with thought out regular use by the creatures that live in or frequent the lair. And the traps can be seen as filters to weed out the wrong entrants.
So wailing room of the damned
Is it just the magic vibes that draw you in, or is it the nuance in the magic use in game?
I find for me it's the latter I like more, as then you have a bunch of tools in your kit and can mix things up.
What game and what's the adventure for your TTRPG?? Also do your cocktails vibe with the ttrpg's theme? Heheh
22.11.2025 01:59 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I also never understood some people's desire to just argue. And tbh that is perhaps a 3rd option here. I'm sure there are moar... ๐๐คฏ
22.11.2025 00:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lol good point. I think fine to discuss the different balances & ones preferences in our roleplaying games, tho I'm tired of the extreme views & absolutist stances. And ngl idk these days how much is just engagement farming vs genuine.
If genuine, like... Well at least ya know your preferences
*Clap*

An idea could be... Take an existing one page dungeon & fill it in for small creatures?
