She is believed to have fled with her husband, Noe Castillo-Ramirez, and their young daughter.

They may be in El Salvador, Guatemala, or Mexico, possibly driving a black Toyota T-100 pickup truck, Georgia plates BKM9384.

Ayala was interviewed but never returned for follow-up questioning.

She was charged with cruelty to children, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, and later felony murder after the boy's death.

Just three days later, on January 20 around 5 p.m., she was last seen in the 8800 block of Thermal Street, a commercial area of Stockton, California.

Investigators say the couple groomed and repeatedly abused a 14-year-old over a four-month period.

Law enforcement reviewed dash cam footage from Katie Proudfoot's vehicle and neighborhood security cameras. Neither Sebastian nor his mother were seen leaving the home, and no vehicles entered or exited during the time he disappeared.

Over 2,000 searchers combed a 4.5-mile radius around his home using scent and cadaver dogs, drones, ATVs, helicopters, and an airplane. Despite extensive efforts, no trace of Sebastian was found.

By morning, Sebastian was gone. He left behind his phone, Nintendo Switch, and money. His mother searched the home and neighborhood with no success. His stepfather reported him missing.
