Ngl, the reason I wanted to finally read Ruslan and Ludmila by Alexander Pushkin was because I wanted to know what the heck was going on in these Gennady Novozhilov illustrations. It did not disappoint.

Last month, I attended a shibari-themed life drawing session hosted by Renai Rai, a well-known rigger here in Manila. This session's model was Harley, a good friend of mine, and it was a lot of fun to draw her with Rai's ropework.

I think Chibiusa looks very very slightly older in my style, like more of a teenager instead of a kid like she's usually shown. If I get to draw her again, maybe I'll rectify that. I loved painting the gems in her hair.

I'd really love to do more Sailor Guardians, but also a few others like Cardcaptor Sakura, characters from Revolutionary Girl Utena, and from Madoka Magica (which I think would actually be the most fitting for the kind of artworks I do).

I really want to do more magical girl artworks, but I don't want to traumatize anyone by placing them in my weird, dark artworks. That said, I've met a few people who want to see their favourite magical girls in my style.

Quick #Sinners art, because I still looove this film

I've been trying to incorporate more flat elements into my pieces and I think this will be a trend for a few more future covers to come. I also really enjoyed the spider legs in this particular artwork. My favourite detail is probably the scar on the character's face.
