There is a little birdie on the bus traveling with us. I doubt she has a ticket… oh no, maybe she doesn’t have ID either. Someone call Bird Immigration Control!

Tam da Jane Humphries’ın “History from Underneath: Girls’ Experience in an Era of Economic Change” makalesini okurken Türkiye’deki ifşa haberleri karşıma çıktı.

3) Thankfully I’m not in the U.S., just mildly intoxicated in public, speaking German instead of English. Maybe that’s a little #heimweh kicking in. I’m really going to miss you, Canada! 🍁 By the way, you still need a German mother for your home :)

2) Feeling safe, social, and slightly unhinged I started chatting with the driver. He smiled at me and said nothing.
Rude? Wait no still smiling. Not rude just silently enduring whatever nonsense I was babbling. Bla bla bla…

1) I didn’t tell my neighbors I was moving out on my birthday, no less. They threw me a surprise farewell party. Very emotional, very boozy... A few beers and cocktails later (on an empty stomach), I found myself in a taxi. There was a Ukrainian flag hanging inside.

I learned about slavery from Hollywood. Why is French cinema so slow to depict our own colonial crimes? A biopic of Frantz Fanon and other remarkable new movies are finding success via social media, yet remain invisible at the big film festivals, says Guardian Europe columnist Rokhaya Diallo

Around 12-14 percent of people experience discomfort, distortion, or difficulty reading under certain lighting or contrast conditions, especially white text on black. I am one of those people & often skip posts in that format. Just letting you know what you share might not be readable for everyone.

4. As a teen, I was obsessed with Wilde’s works. His writing shows how hierarchies rely on myths, conventions, and power. These narratives privilege some while excluding others. Btw, Wilde was punished for being “other.”

3. Levinas, on the other hand, critiques such systems for their failure to recognize the ethical responsibility toward the “other,”(who is marginalized or excluded). Good article to reflect on.

2. It also reminds me of Nietzsche’s idea of the “will to power,” where dominant groups impose their values and narratives to justify their rule, often by defining and excluding “others”.

As Harari often argues, religious, political, and economic elites maintain hierarchies by spreading narratives and myths that justify their dominance as natural or divinely ordained. In doing so, they oppress “others”. This article shows exactly how that plays out today.

More than 100,000 people marched in Hungary’s annual Pride parade in Budapest on Saturday after Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s ban on the event backfired, turning what is usually a low-key parade into a mass rally against his government. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/28/w...

4. Killing is acceptable if done by a state. But when a woman refuses to give birth, it’s a crime because male-dominated religion turns her body into a battleground for control. “May the power be male. May the womb be controlled. May the system remain intact.”
