So I made up a pear and ginger cake using the Alice Taylor apple cake recipe, caramelising the pears in butter, grated ginger and sugar. I had a gorgeous sweet, gingery/butterty syrup to serve with the cake and it was a win!
Also, the pear were from the new trees on the front fence!

Ah sorry, I'm tired and grumpy. And I have a dog asleep with her head on my lap so all is not lost. Just a reminder chronic illness sucks because of the pain and the limitations. Additions, like paying for prescriptions, is a choice made by someone else that adds to the burden .

I spent $40 picking up my prescriptions today because it is apparently up to us chronically ill folks to subsidise the health system.
