I think it depends on what we mean when we say “AI”, since it’s such a general term now. Me personally, I’ve seen thousands of creatives, entire teams, laid off from studios because they’ve been replaced by generative software. If streamlining means taking humans out of it, then I don’t want it.

I’ve wanted a cute, old school type felt pumpkin garland for my entertainment center for a couple years now, and since I never see any I like, I’m doing it myself

First fall bake from this past weekend- gluten-free cinnamon apple hand pies (recipe by The Gluten Free Austrian) 🍁 I doubled all the spices, and the dough baked light and flaky

I feel like we could have a whole conversation about this but I don’t want you to feel like I’m dog piling or anything 😅

Scraping artists’ work without any consent or option to opt out is very gross though, and I’m surprised it’s taking this long for copyright infringement to do something about it. AI can be used for so many good things, but eliminating the creative experience should not be one. My opinion!

While I will never love the idea of a machine replacing human creativity and innovation (plus the horrible environmental impact), if generative models were ethically trained by artists who opt in and are compensated for doing so, at least it would be a conscious choice
