I tend to do poorly in academic areas and tend to thrive with more hands and demonstrative approaches rather than lectures. My brain goes blank if anything becomes too verbose and without accompanying examples. And even then...aaugh — I need to apply what I observe rather than sit and think on it.

I rly love my weekly class at underpaint, my instructor is so kind, concise and articulate 🥹 my fundamental in values is a bit weak so he's been pushing me to go to the extremes. I've had very few art teachers in my life and I'm rly happy his explanations clicks so well for me

What kind of layer mode are you using to add color? I highly recommend hardlight + gradient maps and a bit of trial and error if you want something more saturated
