Illustration made for the poster of the RetroPixel 2023 event, a retrocomputing and videogames fair held in Málaga in the hall of the Faculty of Law of the University of Málaga on April 22 and 23, 2023. This fair commemorated the 30th anniversary of the release of the iconic video game DOOM and the 40th anniversary of the MSX personal computer. The event's poster was illustrated especially for the occasion, showing a tribute to the apocalyptic spirit of DOOM and the retro world in general. Originally, the illustration featured the Doomguy character holding a ZXSpectrum 48k. However, since the event was also celebrating the anniversary of the MSX, I changed the computer to pay homage to it as well. The event was organized by the Asociación Lúdico Técnica de Aficionados a la Informática Retro (ALTAIR), who are known for their popular podcast Retro Entre Amigos. RetroPixel is a family-oriented and completely free cultural and solidarity activity that offers a wide variety of activities for all attendees, from retro gaming competitions to talks by video game industry experts and workshops for children.
