Today, the VSU Fired Six brought the fight to the Virginia Capitol to advocate for higher ed workers to be included in collective bargaining legislation so that VA workers can be empowered to negotiate for workplace protections so illegal terminations without due process end.

Well over half of VA profs are untenured and many struggle to pay the bills. This is 2x true for our adjunct profs. As Prof Letiecq says, our working conditions are our students' learning conditions! When we struggle, they struggle. We need collective bargaining NOW!

University workers are reaching a breaking point re collective bargaining. Virginia must take steps to reverse years of anti-union laws. We’re out here at Virginia State University demanding the immediate reinstatement of the Fired Six! These tenured & TT faculty members were abruptly removed from VSU’s Agricultural Department without notice & in clear violation of basic due process.
