Past as possibility: The potential for reflective engagement with prehistoric archaeology to facilitate ecological awareness and ecotherapy | Culture – Environment – Society

On which note, be really interested in getting your feedback on this: www.vr-elibrary.de/doi/10.14220.... Regardless, Hookland is definitely not cosy and nostalgic - more a liminal place of reflection!

Honestly, I’m still not sure where I stand on nostalgia, especially with all the psychological studies on it that say it can be good for well-being. I think it is both a warped gravity (love this btw!), but also maybe protective when we’re in dire need of it? Maybe it depends on the context??

Free Electricity. Like, at no cost. For everyone. Now. Let's talk about affordability, abundance, and Australia--and why thanks to Trump we can't have nice things

If I were running in next year's midterms, I'd be saying: Aussies are getting free electricity, and we're getting huge price spikes.

Because they built solar, and Trump is blocking it.

If you’re wondering why archaeologists were upset about the Lost King film, you should read this and ask yourself how you would feel if someone misrepresented your profession and professionalism in this way. I also recommend @pittsmike.bsky.social book Digging for Richard III.

Did u know? Queen bumblebees are looking for places to hibernate, right now: loose mud, leaf piles, plant pots or, in this case, my ceramic organic wool-filled skep. If you do accidentally disturb a sleeping beauty, just gently cover her back up again, so she can complete her winter's rest.🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🐝

Derrycunnihy is thought to have been the first place in Beara where the natural temperate rainforest was cleared for farming in the Neolithic, approx. 4000 BC.

Elsewhere on the peninsula (like where I am), it didn't happen until the Bronze Age, circa 1500 BC.

Only very tiny fragments now remain.
