"SCENE CONTEXT (SPOILERS for "The Way You Used to Do" up to chapter 17)" "After an unfortunate villain encounter, Deku's soul is bonded to Bakugou for a month, which improves their relationship. Later, the same villain attacks, stealing Deku's soul to torture. Deku tries transferring OFA to Bakugou in desperation but can't. Bakugou, enraged, uses his Howitzer Impact to blow up the villain, but this deafens Bakugou's right ear. Eventually, Deku's soul is back in his body (which had been comatose on life support). Almost immediately, the weight and power of OFA starts killing a now-emaciated Deku, and in order to save his life, Bakugou has no choice but to take OFA from him (with Deku's prior consent). Unfortunately, that means Deku has no memory of the soul bond when he wakes up the next month, and All Might has just told Bakugou this."
