Play 1 for KC, the FIRST SCRIPTED PLAY which means it's one of the best calls of the week and a play you're confident in. Sound up as you watch and listen, I describe it all in the vid. An example of not on the same page in the run game and how that leads to an inefficient run.

Now that looked like a Chiefs team weβve seen before. Excited for this team to keep growing as Rashee gets back and the coaches learn the personnel even better. Ceiling is sky high, biggest worry is pass rush, but every team has a flaw or two this year.

Totally agree, but that doesnβt change some underlying issues I have. But Iβve said Iβm reserving final judgement for November and December when (hopefully) everyone is on the field together.

He has a ton of upside. Heβs nowhere near being a finished product. In terms of Trey I donβt think heβs played the way we expect him to thus far.
16.09.2025 18:43 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
His technique is his (which is usually a good thing because itβs that way due to trial and error) and itβs not totally orthodox. It works pretty good though and I think heβs shown enough to say he wonβt have to change it immediately, which is also good. He can do that in the offseason and add then.

6) Philly had a lot of moving parts in the run game. Changing fronts, blitzes, DL on the move. For the most part there were a lot of good reactions and blocks to the changing pictures. That stuff is not easy in the least. Wish weβd see less kick outs and more T/TE combo blocks.
16.09.2025 18:06 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
5) (cont.) Pat will be the first to tell you he needs to hit more of those throws but Iβd love to see some cleaner platforms more consistently for him to step into and let rip. That and the top 2 WRs being out (plus Royals) are the biggest issues with the pass offense.
16.09.2025 18:06 β π 15 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
5) The pockets need to be firmer. Too often Pat is feeling bodies, canβt complete his throwing motion, and/or is getting his arm hit. The difference between a clean pocket and follow through vs. having to shorten the motion to avoid contact is stark and it happens way too often.
16.09.2025 18:06 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
4) If Jawaan could just avoid penalties heβs a good player, especially in pass pro. Thought he played well there against good competition. But the penalties are there and I donβt think ever changing, itβs just part of who he is.
16.09.2025 18:06 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
3) Creed is Creed. Got beat once on a 1 on 1 vs Jalen Carter where Jalen got a well timed start (he was all over the snap count) and did his signature jab step to counter. It was the most Iβve ever seen Creed leave the middle to go hit/help on a DT, lot of respect for his game.
16.09.2025 18:06 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
2) Kingsley is getting better. Some really nice 1 on 1 pass pro reps this week. He tends to be a little hit or miss there where the misses are quick and bad, but heβs improving. Heβs really good at frontside G/C combo blocks in the run game, both inside and outside zone.
16.09.2025 18:06 β π 15 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Watching the film:
1) Josh is pretty damn good in pass pro. His balance on inside/counter moves and push/pull is outstanding. Heβs got a calm and ease about his game that you canβt teach. Itβs not the most traditional and against certain styles weβll see but man itβs all there.
16.09.2025 18:06 β π 51 π 3 π¬ 5 π 0
He was βclose a couple timesβ against a backup RT. What do you think itβs going to look like this week against Lane Johnson?
07.09.2025 10:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I think Pat keeps the window open, but unless you find another pass rusher or 3 itβs going to be really hard to compete defensively. Especially if the back end isnβt as good as theyβve been in the past.
07.09.2025 10:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
I have some theories but nothing too concrete. Itβs a good question.
07.09.2025 10:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Now Iβm just rambling so Iβll wrap it up. Still have hope and think by November/December itβs more likely weβll look back on this as the outlier and not the usual. But things better pick up and they better pick up quick. Like real quick. Some losses are fine. This one wasnβt.
07.09.2025 02:10 β π 37 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0
Guess weβll see where this takes us. Offense is going to be kinda ugly for a few weeks is my guess but theyβll be better when they have a chance to practice with guys in their current spots and donβt create an entire gameplan around X. Run game was nonexistent again too.
07.09.2025 02:10 β π 16 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Thatβs not an area you improve much throughout a season either. Chargers had a backup RT, a LT who switched sides recently, a RG who was ill and rotating with his backup. LG and C arenβt considered great players. No one got home. Not many wins, except that last play, and yea.
07.09.2025 02:10 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
Defensively, I dunno man. I canβt say much about the back end, thatβs not my area of expertise. I trust by the end of the year Spags will have figured a lot out. But I just donβt see an avenue where itβs not going to have to be a Spags show every game. 1 on 1 pass rush, woof.
07.09.2025 02:10 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
Offensively yea when youβre down your 1 2 and what, 4? (Royals) WRs it is not going to be looking explosive and amazing. Rookie LT, young LG. That stuff I get. But itβs still a lot of the same mistakes by guys. I think mid to late season itβll be totally different and great.
07.09.2025 02:10 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
I usually take a longer term view and donβt really care much. I always say just get to the playoffs with Pat and Travis and Chris healthy. I still donβt think much changes about the seasonβs outlook, Iβd need to see more of this to change that, but Iβm bummed.
07.09.2025 02:10 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Ok, 24 hours later: Iβm still as disheartened by that loss as Iβve been since the Raiders game two years ago. Yes, I know how that one turned out after. But coming into a new season and seeing all the same mistakes in all aspects of play just kinda sucks.
07.09.2025 02:10 β π 72 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0
No. They chose a different travel schedule but I think the chargers only went 1 day earlier right? Itβs the opening game of the year against a division rival. You should be jacked up and flying around. I get the travel logistics were awful but I expected to see better energy.
06.09.2025 17:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Either way, the outcome is a missed huge deep pass. Then on 3rd down a dropped pass ends the drive. The same stuff weβre all pretty tired of seeing.

Either way, the outcome is a missed huge deep pass. Then on 3rd down a dropped pass ends the drive. The same stuff weβre all pretty tired of seeing. And just generally very discouraging overall to see. Rough first couple drives to say the least.
06.09.2025 15:09 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
Next drive has a false start. On the deep pass to Thornton I think a combo of WR bending it more towards middle of the field than Pat expected, Pat not being able to step into the throw and follow through, and/or maybe an overthrow (hard to tell if the WR had stayed straight and was hauling ass).
06.09.2025 15:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Third we all know what happens. No idea whoβs supposed to be at what depth, thatβs out of my expertise. Either way it happened and now X is (presumably) out a while. Just a bummer of a start and emblematic of all the issues. Guys a little off here and there, overall looks disjointed and disorganized
06.09.2025 15:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
2nd play, basically a Counter. Scheme is great. RT gives up penetration, causes LG to bubble and not have solid base on contact against Mack. Kelce has to bubble over RT, then LG. If he can get to the C sooner maybe he squares him up better and X can run through arm tackle of Mack for massive gain
06.09.2025 15:09 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
First play of the game. Trey gets beat inside, Pacheco makes a nice move to avoid the DT and go around, and then has a hole and a lane to accelerate and run past the DT and decides to make a left hand turn to avoid him. Which he does, but then other defenders in pursuit are there
06.09.2025 15:09 β π 16 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0
Wouldβve been nice to have that emotion early in the game and maybe the second half wouldnβt have needed to be so difficult
