I carried my Patchell into that same waiting room 2 months ago, bleeding out. He didn't make it and returning there is bad enough, without seeing someone else's loss play out.

No reason for sharing this other than that I found it very emotional, having lived through a similar experience recently. They just don't love for long enough. ๐๐
11.08.2025 14:52 โ ๐ 41 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0At the vet earlier and a bloke in his 60s was there with a big blanket and his old dog - must have been 14/15 years old - shaking, thin, diminished, but you could tell that he was a glorious boy in his prime. The man was talking to him gently, affectionately, then led him slowly into the surgery...
11.08.2025 14:52 โ ๐ 14 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0If there are only going to be two pro teams - one West, one East - then the solution is obvious: Llanelli and Newport.
One is the westest and the other is the eastest. Are we serious about this compass point business, or aren't we?
I can confirm that it is absolutely fucking boiling mun.

This is excellent news! Well done to UEFA for taking an uncompromising stance against the menace of single entities owning multiple professional teams.
If only rugby union would follow suit - maybe then we could have club competitions with true integrity.

A group of journalists from Al Jazeera carry the shrouded body of their dead colleague on a stretcher.
They couldnโt silence their stories.
So they just killed them.
Israel never comes back from this.
I thought that the shrimp sandwich looked delicious.

10.08.2025 13:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If the +2 were in the English Championship with a chance of promotion, that could work. Let's say the +2 were Os & Dragons with 50% of their current 1st team budget - they could be competitive in the English 2nd tier and could both potentially return to the top flight, eventually.
10.08.2025 13:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The +2 couldn't play top flight rugby. They would have to be in a semi-pro comp
10.08.2025 13:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I honestly think that would be the best outcome. 2+2 and out of the URC. If 2 teams in the English league is still on the table, then that, with 2 semi-pro outfits acting as development / feeder teams down in the 2nd or 3rd tier, with the chance of promotion for them, further down the line.
10.08.2025 13:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't think 2 sides will happen. Tierney has shown that she doesn't have the stomach to make tough decisions and with Scarlets and Ospreys both fighting tooth and nail and bringing compelling new reasons to retain independence (HOL investment / St Helens regen), the WRU will fold (again).

10.08.2025 10:40 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So discontinue pro rugby in Newport, sell off RP and takeover Cardiff? Isn't Buttress all about the Gwent rugby? That would go against everything that he has preached and would go down like a fart in a spacesuit.

09.08.2025 18:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is not new. He's been to the right of Attila The Hun on social media for years.
09.08.2025 18:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0... And let's be honest - the only reason he keeps wading into every Welsh rugby crisis is because he is a narcissist and the Welsh rugby chin-strokers are the only group that still take him seriously. His dream was to be the Kiwi Trump, but he failed at that,so seeks attention from wherever he can.
09.08.2025 18:36 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0For years, people who rate Dai Moffett's contribution to Welsh rugby administration have overlooked what a nasty and deranged human being he is.
I don't care if he was once instrumental in dragging Welsh rugby into the profession age. I don't want this scumbag anywhere near Welsh rugby in 2025.
