Trump reinforced his support of the SAVE America Act during SOTU. One part he conveniently forgets? It requires states to hand over voter rolls to DHS & creates a federalized surveillance system of voters under Kristi Noem. The last thing Americans want is her in charge of their voter reg status.

Trump also said that is the SAVE Act passes, Republicans won’t lose an election for 50 years. He’s afraid Americans will hold his administration and his allies accountable at the ballot box so he wants to keep citizens from voting.

Trump called for passage of the SAVE Act again during SOTU. Calling SAVE “voter ID” is MAGA sugarcoating MAGA to try to make Americans swallow this toxic bill. SAVE requires Americans to show a passport or birth certificate. REAL IDs don’t count. This isn’t election integrity, it’s election rigging.

Opinion: I support voter ID but oppose the SAVE America Act Protecting election integrity should not come at the cost of access, especially in rural and tribal communities.

She’s not wrong! The SAVE Act is so badly written, it mandates state officials make printers and scanners available to the public for scanning documents. They provide no $ for implantation to overhaul voting nationwide but do this. “hard to cheat, EASY to vote” right?….

Many people think the SAVE Act wouldn’t apply to them because they have REAL ID. But that’s NOT true!! A REAL ID license is NOT proof of citizenship-it’s proof of legal presence. Permanent residents + visa holders can get REAL ID & in nearly all states they don’t look any different!

Th SAVE Act is up for another vote tomorrow! This is NOT a voter ID bill! It would force Americans to show a passport or birth certificate in person at their election office. This is a real drive someone would have to make to show their docs to an election official! 8 hours! And they’re not alone.

Gun Owners of America is lobbying Congress to pass the SAVE Act, which would require a majority of Americans to show a passport to register to vote.

But GOA opposes any law that requires showing a drivers license to buy a gun.

On the 60th anniversary of the VRA, conservatives thought it was a good idea to launch a bus tour to support the SAVE Act-legislation that would restrict citizens' right to vote.... Bus tours were instrumental in the fight for voting rights during the civil rights movement. They know no shame
