currently having even more cursed luck with the pets’ emergency vet needs but I’m not gonna get back in the habit of constantly updating. I’ll just say for now: fuck!

just got Chopper home! he’s all bruised up and feels like he lost weight but is also easily the happiest I’ve ever seen him (and he’s generally a very happy kitty) 💛 we’re both over the moon to be back with each other 💛 my big baby 😭

I already had a pretty severe anxiety disorder, man 🙃 had to put therapy on hold to afford everything that’s happened this year. I’ve worked really hard over many years to get out from under stressful internal narratives but I feel genuinely haunted by cruel luck. feels like some cosmic punishment.

this has easily been the most stressful & heartbreaking year of my adult life. Chop is currently hospitalized for a very sudden urinary block in the middle of the night. He was hours, at most a day, away from death and I can’t stop cringing knowing I should have been asleep and might have missed it

Pebs didn’t care for cuddles much before all of this so I found it surprising a while back when I noticed how much spooning her & holding her paws when she’s stressed/in pain has soothed her. It’s now also now my anxiety remedy, but no surprises there. This has all been very emotionally confusing.

BUT the gist is: Pebs hasn’t been doing well for the last three months but she’s *finally* doing much better. I can now use more than .5% of my brain for routine activities instead of being in constant distress 🤩 let’s hope I remember how to work this thing (my body lol)
