I'm going to have to get that signal for the raised track restored at some point. A go over with the sand blaster and a complete repaint is what's called for. ~ Corps.

10.11.2025 12:08 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0The shunter's shed down at the old mine display is undergoing maintenance, so Puffa and Hector the 08 are spending time in the main engine sheds for a while till repairs are completed.
Just means it'll take a while longer for the coaches to arrive at the platform. ~ Whitehouse
Fast Eddie offered to help sweep Betty's chimney as it had been clogged yesterday evening with soot. We have a modified loo brush which does the job, but Eddie thought attaching it to a drill would make the job go faster. Now Betty's chimney is clogged with a brush and soot! Flipping-eck!~ Casey.
07.11.2025 10:20 β π 14 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0OMG! Michael, these are looking great! I'm sure the finished item will look great. You'll have to have a premiere of the finished piece at the railway once it's all done.
We're really pleased with the progress so far. Keep it up! ~ Jane.
Lady Grange and Betty are on service today.
"Jumping cold it was too, that morning, but little steam engines love the cold weather"
I've a good fire in her ladyship and plenty of steam. So it should be a good day's run. ~ Casey.
Whitehouse and Puffa are currently helping at Drumawhey this week and Hector is in for it's yearly servicing. So we've had to get a temp shunter to arrange the trains this week. ~ Casey.
03.11.2025 09:49 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0It was fun seeing Michael at the railway again. Though he said that he was coming up again today to discuss something with us. Nothing to do with Miniature Railway Adventures, but something completely different. Cars and Corps have been asked to dig through the archives for something. ~ Jane.
02.11.2025 11:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tomorrow the railway will be closed, but will reopen again on Saturday. Reasons for this brief closure can be sourced from this audiobook our friend Michael produced explaining the whole story.

No worries. Just out of curiosity, how soon would it be before we can actually see a full proper edit? Is there anything that can be shared?
27.10.2025 23:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We asked Michael if we could share some new content with you all. ATM his studio is undergoing some maintenance work, but hopes to be resuming filming again soon. Plus he promised us a visit on Saturday with some friends. Looking forward to it. ~ Corps.

22.10.2025 19:43 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1We've got movement!!!
Though I think more engines and stock are required. But till they arrive I think the ground works for some scenic work is in order.
Expect a new Livestream from the Miniature Railway Adventures YT channel tomorrow covering this.
So I decided to order another Magnorail set for this new layout for I had a bit of a brainwave last night. One item on the layout that I was unsure at the time how to work was the raised track for the 5 inch & 3 1/2 inch trains. But I think I know how...
12.10.2025 11:27 β π 11 π 2 π¬ 0 π 1When you're animating a run cycle and the perfect song comes on your playlist. This video is from a month ago, but I was animating a running sequence when this song came on.
Song BTW is 'Footsteps' from City Hunter.
Went to the railway this morning to do a survey of what damage has been done. Part of a tree has come down in the storm, but shouldn't take too long to clear away. A few other branch have landed on the ground eve track and they too will need to be cleared.
With luck we'll soon be back in business.
We were planning a meet up with another miniature railway club. But due to recent weather warnings it has been postponed. Guess are our railway will be closed for a while too. A shame but there it is.
04.10.2025 09:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I would guess possibly O-16.5mm or GN15 if a suitable chassis were sourced.
03.10.2025 14:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If they make this and have it fitted with DCC sound it would sound amazing. Especially with its two whistles. But then, nothing beats driving the real thing. ~ Casey.
02.10.2025 22:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, she's 5 inch. Though on that day she was a visiting engine, brought down by one of our friends. We only see it on either AGMs or social meet ups. But yeah it's a smashing little engine. Nicely crafted too. ~ Corps.
28.09.2025 22:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The amount of times Lady Grange gets mistaken for Thomas. I swear, if I had a pound every time anyone compared her to Thomas I'd have enough to buy another engine.
In answer your question, no, Lady Grange was bought in this livery from her previous owner. ~ Casey.
Even the raised tracks have a few special engines out for display runs including miniature versions of Rocket, Lion and a few others. Some fine examples of miniature engineering. ~ Corps.
27.09.2025 12:42 β π 17 π 3 π¬ 2 π 0This weekend we have quite the number of visiting engines to our little railway to Celebrate 200 years of the modern railway. Even though we are a miniature railway, we don't want to miss out in taking part in the celebrations. Special trains will be departing from the station later today. ~ Cars.
27.09.2025 12:12 β π 21 π 6 π¬ 3 π 0Has it been 17 years already?! Wow!
And we must say, we look great in that group photo. Thank you again, Michael for writing about our adventures and to help share the passion of all things miniature railways. Here's to another 17 and hopefully many more happy years to come. ~ The MES Crew
Oooo. Nice little engine in this new video from Peter's Railway.
And I love the workshop at the start. None too similar to ours. ~ Corps. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJMU...
Betty is out in steam on the track today, after a small period of rest from the summer workload. Lady Grange will follow shortly.
I'm told that we're going to be extra busy the rest of this year as Drumawhey is now closed for the rest of this year while undergoing repairs to one of its main bridges
Hey, thats looking really good, Michael. Which part of the railway is this? ~ Whitehouse.
31.08.2025 15:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We've just heard from our friends at Drumawhey that due to severe corrosion, one of its main rail over river bridges has been deemed unsafe for anyone to cross. This will mean that the line will be closed for passengers for the duration of this year while repairs are being done. ~ Corps.
29.08.2025 09:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sorry we haven't been posting much. We've had a lot of visitors lately at the railway that getting spare time to do social media stuff has become very limited.
hopefully when things calm down a notch we should be able to contribute with new updates from the railway. Till then. ~ Corps.
Oh awesome! We're definitely looking forward to seeing this taking shape. If you need any reference material, let us know.
04.08.2025 12:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Due to severe gales, the railway is closed till further notice. ~ Cars.
