Word is cut off at (Septem/ber) given context it can be read. In the novels this month would be called Kori

Translation Notes:
Kianoides is the big problem child here. The last 3 symbols are very reminiscent of the Greek ẟ and ε. Beyond this we have not seen them before. MTL also spells Kianoides as curenodis at times.

making this has led to me realizing I never posted a tl oopsy

I really need to setup that blog with all my yapping / LT's for this stuff as an archieve maybe when I have some more free time since finishing the OG post is gonna take me forever still.

All in all the hardest part with this letter has been matching everything up, there are a lot of weird little spots were the more I look, the less clear it becomes. Even changing my TL here and there to this new version while I wrote out this post.

Clame is an old last name used in European countries in the 1820's based on a bunch of records I could find. (Very normal behavior I promise I'm not in too deep...) Sadly I don't think we'll ever know for sure which one it is.

Now the elephant in the room, Clame, Flame or Claim. This one was hard. Claim would need a different letter order. It is a former way to make a request though, however it doesn't match the rest of what is said. Flame could be how Saleos was killed or a nod to his second name.

The final bit is more letter shape matching, 'regarding the' is fairly easy and from chapter 18 we have 'letter' leaving us with something in the middle. After a lot of squinting I went with 'previous' here which also makes sense in context. This is a follow-up letter based on an order they got.

Now for the next word, this one I'm not sure on beyond it starting with a 'c'. It's a long word so… 'Contributes' I went with based on subject and writing style, it's like part of it is Valjakka's testimony so it makes sense sort of?

Now here's the biggest kicker. Valjakka's name, as a nerd whose been here too long I have consulted my fellow nerds. There are a bunch of spellings for his name with MTL which especially loves writing it as Valiyakka.. And would you look at that it matches!

'ranked high' is the next part we're missing. 'Ranked' is our anchor this time leaving some type of score. Based on shape I went with the 'i' here over an 'o' despite it looking like a shorter word. With the crimes in the letter giving a low rank wouldn't fit. Unless it's age based or something else

We do the same down below the 'of' is fairly clear here so that's our anchor. The next word would be rocal but…. that's not a word however, local is leading to my swap there.

Starting with recognizing solo letters. I can see a tiny 'i' and 's' at the top plus 2/1 longer signs. With some healthy amount of gambling I'm going with 'this' here. The 'letter' part I do the same way it's very squished so it could still be something else, I'm just going on rough shapes here.

Next I zoom back out looking at the whole letter, at the top the only new part is a small 'The'. I cross off what I've already compared leaving me only with the minuscule stuff. Which is where the font trick really shines. While it isn't perfectly 1:1 it will help me a ton here.

Also doing this, this lets me quickly flip between languages, I have the madome script as a font so I can match the letters as I go. This helps a bunch with the tiny text later on.

Here's what that looks like, until I end up with something more completed like image 2.

Next up I just totally ignored all the small stuff. I can torture my eyes later. So I looked at the clearest parts in the magnifying glass. This is where things get messy though, I like putting my translated text above the original so I can keep track of what I've done.

Alrighty, here's my general thoughts on looking at the letters from chapter 18-19 alongside a slightly edited version at the end.

First what I did is pick apart the bits we've already seen before in chapter 18 then high lighted them where I felt like they lined up.
