This film does a good job of revealing the ways psychopaths often use charm to lure their victims. This movie is by no means a typical horror film or a typical psychological thriller.Β at has several layers.
The pacing of this film is deliberate and intense, and it switches back and forth between time frames and victims. A little annoying at first, but it all made sense at the end.
Woman of the hour is a good film, definitely well made and well acted, it's almost shocking to discover that the film is based on actual, real life events. A little research will detail just how monstrous Alcala was, he clearly committed multiple murders, and got away with it for years.
Anna Kendrick and Daniel Zovatto played their roles extremely well. Anna Kendrick did a great job in her directorial debut.
A suprising detail; Anna Kendrick made no money from "Woman of the Hour" because she donated all her pay to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and the National Center for Victims of Violent Crime. These organizations are two of the country's leading nonprofits that support survivors of sexual abuse and violence.

The Stranger, based on Harlan Coben's novel of the same name, follows Adam Price, who seems to be living theki perfect life--two great sons, a watertight marriage--until a stranger approaches him at a bar and reveals a shocking secret about Adam's wife Corinne.
This is an intriguing thriller with plenty of twists and turns and plenty of red herrings to keep you puzzled, and scratching your head. Some are a little far-fetched but that didn't spoil the enjoyment of the series. There is a fine sense of mystery concerning the whereabouts of Corrine and the identity and motives of the mysterious stranger of the title. Some mysteries are wrapped up pretty quickly but more emerge as the series progresses.
The cast does a fine job; most obviously Richard Armitage as Adam Price and Siobhan Finneran as DS Griffin; there are also notable performances from Dervla Kirwan as Corrine; Paul Kaye as police officer Patrick Katz; Anthony Head as Adam's father, Edgar Price; and Stephen Rea as Martin Killane, an ex-police officer who is employing Adam as a lawyer and helps with his investigation into the stranger.
