I haven’t actually played any of these and I’m still a bit overwhelmed. GoY should’ve been a day one purchase for me, but I’m still having to hold off despite this.

Stupid thing is Indy is, strictly speaking, a game from last year. But those of us who aren’t Xbox wankers only got to play it this year (the year with too many games).

I kinda hate it. Last year didn’t have enough. I spent most of it discovering (which is good) or replaying old stuff. And that’s fine if you know there’s nothing new you want to play, but this year I just get Foh-Moh, because I can’t play all of it.

Last year kinda sucked for games and this one is an embarrassment of riches. It’s stupid. Why can’t both have just met somewhere in the middle?

I was gonna preorder Ghost of Yotei, but Hades 2 is SO fucking good. And fully deserving of my time right now.

Just watched the original TRON for the first time, and I feel a bit ill. Probably a film best seen in standard definition on the smallest television you can find.

The sheep thing was brilliant. Just never knew what it was going to do, and it’s a different kind of horror. Because it just looks like a sheep with a bad stye.

How does it ignore Alien 3 though, which is set 60 years after this? (And for that matter, Resurrection -although that’s a film I also pretend doesn’t exist)

Yeah. Wasn’t especially keen on the ending either. Seems they’re setting up a season two though, so you can expect shit to get fucky for all the synth children.

The needle drops are weird. Noah Hawley seems to have very similar taste in music to me, if that’s anything to go by, but it’s weirdly inappropriate to hear Pearl Jam or Queens of the Stone Age anywhere near Alien.

Finished it now. The look of the Xenomorphs did improve in later episodes, and it’s generally a very nice-looking production.

Story has interesting ideas, just wasn’t sure an Alien property is the right place to explore them. I loved the new creatures though, especially the eyeball thing.

I got it on early access, but haven’t played that much as I was holding out for the final release. I shall be diving in this evening with a fresh save.

2025 has been utterly ridiculous for games.

Seemed like the texture that felt most wrong to me. Like a sort of moulded hard plastic, rather than the slippery latex look from the films. If someone made a novelty bubble bath bottle of a Xenomorph, it would look like it does in this show.

Quite like Olyphant as Roylan Batty too.

I’m only a couple of episodes in, but it seems quite good so far as its own thing. At least it’s different. Even if they did use an Alien costume from Temu.

They looked tremendous in Romulus. That’s one thing about that film that I can’t fault. It’s strange that they’ve managed to get this wrong. Even the “bloke in a suit” approach looked much better in 1979.

I’ve started Alien: Earth. The production design is utterly lush, but the Xenomorph looks like a theme park mascot or cos player. It’s a bit weird.

Bit irritated that Ghost of Yotei is out next week, as I’ve recently let myself become a bit of a backlog wanker.

I’ve also spent about 30 hours on Stardew Valley the last couple of weeks. Catching fish, growing potatoes, and giving rubbish presents to people trying to woo them. Stupid video games.

Ragnarök is even better. Somehow.

You’ve still got quite a bit of the story to go.

Ragnarök DLC features OG Kratos, and you can change his appearance in the main game to look like him once completed. It’s extremely cool, but kinda jarring.

The rear standing tickets are currently going for £291. You have to pay £375 if you want to stand anywhere near the front.

From what I’ve since seen there was dynamic pricing as well, so only some “lucky” few would’ve got it at that extortionate face value.

I didn’t even know about the dynamic pricing when I posted that. I just saw people saying the ones they were getting cost £160. Fucking shameful.
